1 Line is $24.89 after taxes but 2 Lines is $54?

First line is $15 with $9.89 in taxes.

Add a second line and at checkout it says $15 for each line but due monthly is $53.58

Why would the taxes go up by more than double when adding a second line?

Why is Consumer Cellular billing me for a "final" month of service?

I ported my number to a new carrier literally the day before my billing cycle closed in March. According to the two reps I talked to, I would not get another bill because of that.

I also have a copy of a $0.00 bill for April. Yet I got a bill for April last week.

I have copies of all the chats. I will NOT be paying for a service I did not use.

Money grubbers.

*UPDATE*

I'm reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission.

Trying to move to ATT from Consumer Cellular is a challenge.

We had CC and were mostly happy with it. Some dropped calls. Also if you are traveling to canada or Mexico, you have to notify them a week in advance of your trip as it is not included in their plan. And you have to be in the US for them to add the coverage. We found out after we were in Canada and had no signal. They could not remedy this unless we were back in the US. Because we need new phones ( iPhones 10 and 12), we decided to go with ATT through Costco. I found I would be paying the same rate as CC but would get 4 iPhone 16s. Because CC uses ATTs towers it was basically impossible to port our phone numbers from CC to ATT. We spent approximately 10 hours trying to make it work without success. So we signed on with Verizon which we keep short term then change over to ATT. Moral of the story, if there is a chance you may to go with ATT, do not go with CC.

Been with Consermer Cellular for 3 years NO PROBLEM AT ALL. Best provider I been with out of Verizon, T-Mobile. Not 1 problem with service , billing or any thing. That was 3 months of not paying my bill 25/month no late fees I see.

Beware when cancelling

My husband and I left consumer cellular because calls kept dropping and our phones would not ring due to poor bandwidth. I was unhappily surprised to learn that our final bill would not be prorated. We had to pay for a full month of service even though we used only 2 days of the service that month. Big ripoff. We called several times before leaving and no one told us to time our departure with our billing cycle.

Had a good experience signing on

My wife and I had a V cell bill of nearly $200. Called CC and got someone on the line immediately. I had to activate my SIM card, and it went fine. I had service, but I couldn't make a call. I called back later, and talked with a rep who brought my old carrier on a 3-way. She harangued him about my phone being locked. To wit, I was still getting notifications on my phone that "your SIM card is not from X." Dude said it was unlocked, we let him go, but I still couldn't make a call. She kept on, worked with me through the deep settings and called old carrier again. This time she waist taking any shit and banged on her. Eventually, I ended the call.

A bit later, I was able to complete a call. And then i accompanied my wife as she called in to get her iPhone switched over (doesn't require a physical SIM card like mine), and we got the same rep! Anyway, she helped us through that bit, and we were all golden.

Shout our to Bri, and glad you got to see some positive resolution for a client.
