So ive put in a solid amount of hours into this game, around 2000h, and ive spend like 95% of those playing on BBG.

I know its not necessarly the most popular mod for most people around here but since my goal, even when im playing alone, is to get better for my next game with my friends

Thats why i havent play Civ6 without BBG in years, to the point where i forgot most Leader abilities and mechanics that BBG didnt keep.

Last weekend we decided to play an unmodded game for the first time in years and oh my god !!! So many things are hella broken !! Tomyris popping ou 2x horses , work ethics (in particular with Russia), hammurabi's eureka bs, Khmer's whole kit , pingal is so OP he is the only gouvernor you will ever need and so much more ...

Honestly some of those Civ6 are auto playing themselves at this point

Where to settle with Ambiorix?

1st time playing gaul, deity. Debating 2 settle locations

  1. plains where cursor is - can get the eureka for coastal city, can build a lot of mines directly srrounding city center and build districts around those. Downlside is not many land tiles

  2. grassland where the warrior replacement is. would be 2 food 1 prod, access to coast for a harbor wherethe fish is, get early sicne with tea and the plains where cursor is I could put a district and get a lot of adjacency bonus

southwest becomes tundra pretty, not visible on screenshot but tundra starts at the southwesternmost tile near the end of river.

I always found Deity to be impossible and assumed I just wasn't good enough to play at that level, but this morning I finally pulled off a Diplomatic victory with Frederick Barbarossa on turn 283. It was massively satisfying, particularly since I managed to build a MONSTER of a civilization that was absolutely roaring and I was crushing everyone on basically every level:

  • 14 cities, 218+ pop (all ecstatic)
  • 2300 gold pt
  • 1300 science pt
  • 700 culture pt
  • 16 wonders built, including 3/4 in Atomic Era
  • Capital city had 33 pop with 274 production pt. It was completing entire space program projects in 2-3 turns (on Standard speed).

I also had all of the space race-oriented Great People and was clearly on an unstoppable path to crush a science victory. Oh, and the only other civs who could even hope to slow me down were all under alliances so there was literally no fear of invasion or sabotage.

God, I love this game. I wish I could bottle this feeling!

Played on deity level.

Spawned on a continent with just one other civ: Amanitore.

She got rowdy with me very early, so we had a war and I wiped her out. That was the first and only war I fought through the entire game. I explored my continent and filled it with cities before I ever ran into another civ. Once I started exploring the world and found everyone, they all were pleased with me after a short time. I traded with everyone, and no one attempted to settle on my lands, and made only small attempts to convert me.

I eventually won a science victory, could have won a diplomatic one, but deliberately avoided that.

Not one attack. Not one denunciation. Everything was sweetness and light. Got invited to join their wars vs each other, but declined each time. Provided strategic materials to usually whoever was weakest, but only in small amounts insufficient to build a unit immediately.

Very strange the way it played out. If you look at the civs at the top, by end game everyone is happy with me, except for Frederick. Never could get him to like me much, though he never really disliked much either.
