Does PPF affect resale value of the car in India?

Planning to sell my Honda City in about 2 years. A friend is insisting I get PPF done now so the paint stays mint and helps resale. But I'm not sure if Indian buyers even care about PPF when buying a used car. Worth the investment?

Minor scratch issue – owner insisting on Nexa repaint. Am I being unreasonable?

Hey everyone, Got into a small situation 2 days back and wanted some unbiased opinions.

I accidentally scratched a parked Suzuki Baleno (rear bumper). The damage is quite minor with a small paint cut, nothing major like dents or cracks.

Now here’s the thing:

  • The car was parked almost on the road with hazard lights on.

  • As soon as it happened, the owner said: “bhaiyya aapko dikha nahi kya, mere to parking lights bhi on the”.

  • I immediately accepted it was my mistake and shared my number.

But now he’s:

  • Insisting on getting it repaired only at Nexa workshop.

  • Quoting around ₹4500 for a small patch repaint (not even full bumper) (for full bumber paint nexa quoted him 12k).

  • Asking me directly how much cash I can pay.

What I’ve offered:

  • Get it repaired properly at a good local garage (my known guy offered to fix it for free as its very small).

  • Or go through insurance

I’ve clearly told him I’m not comfortable paying cash directly, but I’m willing to fix the damage properly.

So my question:

👉 Am I being unreasonable here?

👉 Is ₹4500 justified for this kind of scratch?

👉 What would you guys do in this situation?

Not trying to run away from responsibility, just don’t want to overpay or handle it the wrong way.

Would appreciate honest opinions.

What’s the catch with unregistered cars?

In MH used car markets, I’ve seen a lot of sellers advertising is 1000km driven unregistered car, that supposedly makes me the first owner at prices wayyy below the market on road pricing. I know it comes of as a little bit of a stupid question but will the first owner have to incur the road taxes and other registration related costs as if they’re bought from the show room. For instance I noticed an unregistered Q7 for 77 lakhs, which seems like a bargain for the car you’re getting but as we all know, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is!

Finally got the Audi Q3 Premium … and honestly, this one feels a little more emotional than just “buying a car”.

This whole journey wasn’t straightforward at all.

Phase 1: Responsibility kicked in

We started with pure logic was of mileage, space, future family, retirement plans.

Hycross, XUV700, EVs… everything that made sense on paper.

Phase 2: Confusion + overthinking

Every option felt right in its own way.

EV felt like the future.

Hybrid felt safe.

SUVs felt practical.

But nothing felt like mine.

Phase 3: The driving moment

Test drives changed everything.

That feeling behind the wheel…

I realized I don’t just want a car to move around. I want something I connect with.

Phase 4: The unexpected turn

Then came the Audi deal. (a corporate deal)

Suddenly something that felt “out of reach” became possible.

And it hit differently not just financially, but emotionally.

Phase 5: The decision

Stopped looking at spreadsheets for once.

Thought about the next 5–10 years…

What would I actually enjoy coming back to every day?

And that was it.

Final choice: Audi Q3 Premium

It may not be the most practical option.

It may not be the cheapest to run.

But it feels like a reward for my father, for everything he’s done, and for this phase of life we’re stepping into.

This one’s not just a car.

It’s a memory in the making.

Would love to hear from other Q3 owners what should I look forward to the most?

Test drove i20 IVT vs Glanza AMT – Loved i20 but confused. Need owner feedback

Hi everyone, I recently took test drives of the Hyundai i20 Sportz IVT and Toyota Glanza AMT. Honestly, I liked the i20 a lot more in terms of comfort, smoothness, interiors and overall driving feel. The IVT felt much smoother compared to the AMT, especially in city traffic. I’m planning to go ahead with the i20 (getting it around ₹8.4L on-road with BH registration), but before booking, I wanted some real owner feedback. My main concerns: How is the maintenance cost of i20 IVT in real-world usage? Any long-term issues with the IVT gearbox? Real-world city mileage experience? Overall ownership experience (service, reliability, resale etc.) Also, I’m getting Glanza/Baleno in almost the same price range, so a bit confused: Is i20 still a good choice over Glanza/Baleno? Am I compromising too much on mileage/maintenance for better comfort?

Would really appreciate inputs from actual owners, especially those who considered these cars.

Finally it’s here!! & was definitely worth the wait - SELTOS 🚙✨

My first car. Let the drives begin!! 🥳

Took the delivery of our new car yesterday and thought of sharing my experience which would help the community!!

  1. Model name - Kia Seltos HTK O IVT 1.5 NA

  2. Booking date - 10th March

  3. Delivery date - 20th April

  4. Place - Epitome Kia, Whitefield, Bangalore

  5. Final price - 16.3 L including accessories, insurance (Taking BH number from my hometown)

  6. Color - Morning Haze

Details below:

Finally pulled the trigger on my first car, after months of research and contemplation !! 🚗

Initially, was considering sub-4m SUVs likes of Venue, Sonet, 3XO and Kylaq. Even booked the new venue 😄

But then I took test drive of the new Seltos… and honestly, that changed everything. The interiors felt way more premium, the looks much bolder and classy. Overall it just felt like a lot more car for the price. 🤩

Ended up stretching the budget a little and going ahead with this!!

Dealership experience was okayish — communication could’ve been better — but they did deliver the vehicle quickly, so that worked out well.

Haven’t driven it much yet, but will share more updates as I spend more time with the car.

Thanks to everyone here for all the discussions and insights — genuinely helped in making the decision 🙌

Tyres recommendation! (10year old tyres btw!!)

Running 10-year-old factory tyres on my Zest (185/60 R15), 60k km done. Finally upgrading to a new set.

Usage:

City + long highway trips with family + driving in Mumbai cement roads & heavy rains.

Shortlisted:

Continental:

• CC6

• UC6

Yokohama:

• Earth 1 Max

• BluEarth GT AE51

• BluEarth GT max

• Earth 1 E400

Need real world reviews of what you’ve experienced with these models of tyres. Mainly looking for lesser road noise and good comfort and handling, would be better if runs at least 40k 50k kms.
