Cambridge really is beautiful, and I feel incredibly lucky to have immigrated here from South Africa. I was a minority there and it wasn’t really safe. Walking around Cambridge each day, it is hard not to feel grateful for the history, the green spaces, and the sense of calm that runs through it. It feels like a privilege to be part of a place with so much character and so many people from different backgrounds making it home.

Had a pretty poor experience at Cambridge Dental Hub last week. They managed to misdiagnose a simple problem and tried to sell me a treatment plan costing over £1000 for it. I had to laugh at the audacity. Got it fixed by a different dentist for under £100.

I left a review on Google but interestingly, it doesn't show up publicly. It seems like they're able to prevent many (but not all) 1-star reviews from being displayed. Surely, this kind of tactic shouldn't be acceptable. How do I get my review to show up properly and prevent these guys from deleting any negative reviews?

"Hi everyone, I am swallowing my pride to ask for some emergency help for me and my son. We are in a desperate spot until my Universal Credit clears on the 25th. ​My son is a Type 1 Diabetic. We have completely run out of food, which is a massive medical risk for his blood sugars right now. I finally secured a foodbank voucher for tomorrow, but we have zero food for tonight and I only have £0.53 ​I would normally walk to a community food hub, but I am currently on crutches with severe mobility issues. I physically cannot get to a shop or carry bags. The official Cambridge food banks have closed for the day. ​My mum has thankfully helped us get the electric back on today so how insulin is safe in the fridge, but we desperately need something to eat. Could anyone possibly order a cheap takeaway or a Deliveroo grocery drop to our door just to get us through the night? I can provide proof of my voucher for tomorrow in a private message. I've been referred to the restart scheme after being on universal credit for six months, and I've got my first face-to-face appointment tomorrow, so I just wanted to ask anyone who's on it/been on it if it's any good in Cambridge at all?

I've seen a lot online about it being fairly terrible with harassing people, applying to jobs and courses on their behalf without consulting them at all, threatening sanctions and all sorts- so I'm really worried about it and wanted to try and get an idea of how it is in Cambridge?

I’m a Ukrainian girl looking for a host in the UK under the «Homes for Ukraine».

I stayed in Ukraine for as long as I could, but my area has experienced many drone attacks. Recently, a strike hit the apartment next to mine while I was at home. I was very lucky to survive, but after that I have strong anxiety and symptoms of PTSD.

Since then, I have had serious trouble sleeping, I react to every loud sound, and sometimes I am not even able to go to the shelter with my cat during air raids because I am afraid I might lose consciousness due to the sounds of rockets and drones.

I realised that I can no longer stay here and need to move to a safer place.

I am calm and responsible, and I truly want to build a life, work, and study in the UK, because I feel this country would be great for fast integration.

I would be very grateful for any help, advice, or a potential host.

I want to join a gym that is near my office, otherwise I won't go. The LivingWell gym in the Hilton (by John Lewis) is most convenient location-wise, but is it good? Does anyone use it other than hotel guests? It seems very small. Thanks!

Are there any scenic/nature hikes I could do nearby without having to travel too far? I already know about wandlebury but wanted it to be further out than that, but also not like a 3 hour train journey to the coast
