I wanted to pick your brains and see if anyone had had a similar experience or thoughts. I bought a 2026 Escalade Sport in January as a push present since we are expecting twins in June. When I bought it, it had 3,000 miles on it since I was out as a loaner to someone who couldn’t get their Escalade V by their expected ship date. In February, at 5,000 miles, the oil light came on and an oil change was required. At 6,000 miles, while driving, the entire display went out and needed a global reset. Both times I went into the dealership for those services, their total inspection came back clear with no issues or recalls noted.
Yesterday, at 6,500 miles and two weeks since my last visit, again while driving at highway speeds, the entire engine blew. Car stalled, and I barely managed to pull to the shoulder safely as the entire car quit. Would not turn back on, no nothing. I tow the car to the dealership and ask to speak to the GM. They THEN informed me there was an engine recall, despite JUST being in the dealership with no mention of said recall, and said they’ve seen this issue before. The GM stated that they would rebuild the car, put in a different engine without the parts that were deemed initially faulty, and have it back to me again within the month. Mind you, twins are now due in a month.
My question is- for those who have had this issue and had the engine rebuilt, have you had any additional issues since? The GM assured me that there have not been any cases with additional issues following the rebuild- however, I am having a hard time trusting the dealership as they put me in a car with known recalls without mentioning it to me. In addition, I am without a car and a rapidly approaching due date. My husband said we could potentially pursue Lemon law, but I wanted to weigh all options first. Any advice, thoughts, and feedback is appreciated.
