Smith & Bergen Brooklyn

Hi fellow New Yorkers,

I’m looking to rent a place on smith & Bergen in cobble hill Brooklyn. I’d love some insight into the safety of this area. Bergen st station will be my local, and with gowanus housing close I’m a bit worried about the sort of people that will be around. Also with the new jail being built on Atlantic.

Please tell me your honest thoughts/ experiences!

So naturally, the pair seem to have drawn the ire of the police.

“A couple of cops have come up to me and said someone complained,” said Parke, who regularly goes to the bridge with an angle grinder to take down the locks. “No one has been able to cite any rule or law. But one was very set on what he wanted me to do and not do, even when I was literally just using scissors to cut down trash.”

Hey neighbors! Does anyone live on Atlantic Ave between Henry and Hicks? Or nearby? How loud is it to live there? Especially above a restaurant or a bar. Thanks so much!

This past weekend I led a Jane’s Walk through Brooklyn Heights and had a number of guests ask for a breakdown of the churches we visited. I thought this community would also enjoy that.
