r/bodymods

Finally got some pics where you can see our actual teat/nipple nubs! Not the best since it's a bit hard to get on camera in general, let alone with our weight fluctuating and pre existing scars - hope they work
They are small half dome silicone implants done mid-October 2025 by Shawn O'Hare The bumps themselves can be seen above the six oval-shaped scars. The right side is more visible than the left at the moment. They will eventually be tattooed for realism. They're subtle but considering when we got them we weren't sure if it was even possible - very happy and very affirmed!
Any questions welcome
disclaimer i dont have perfect english but hope I can explain well what i was thinking and experiencing after having a tongue split done; also everything in this post is obviously an individual experience and ive seen plenty of posts made by people who have no issues with this bodymod and are absolutely happy with it
so ill start from the worst thing(?) which isn't specifically a con but a risk i would like to know if i was deciding of doing it again
- the person who did it was a super reputable popular dude having a medical background and -- a long history of making specifically tongue splits--, he had a large and really nice looking portfolio! and ive read a lot of great reviews on him on different sources but my tongue split is uneven! the stitches on one half started falling out two days earlier than i was supposed to take them out, although i followed all the instructions and recommendations very carefully and in general had a super even and normal tongue before haha, as i understood they were made too close to the surface on the left side idk why and that lead to having a wider scar on this side while almost no scar on the other, and THIS lead to it being a little bit crooked, a little bit stiffer and a little bit shorter on the left side! it doesn't look bad at all but if i were a perfectionist or had an OCD it would drive me crazy to this day; the dude who made the mod told me to stretch it and i did stretch it 20mins a day for a week as he recommended but nothing changed
now a bit more common thing
I THINK it depends what language you speak to speak the same after this mod if you speak english you probably won't even notice any difference in like a week after BUT if you speak mostly in something like russian as me it would be harder; i am speaking fine now but in the mornings i or if i spoke a lot this day it takes a lot more concentration to say "R"s after and somestimes during the day and for me this is very annoying as i had perfect diction before and loved to tell stories and speak a lot and fast in general AND NOW IT KINDA takes part off my charisma lol
my tongue became more active in my mouth and somehow i damaged my gums in the back of it multiple times just by moving my tongue around and pressing it to the walls of my mouth all day for no reason as if you have some toy in your hand and you play with it not thinking much about it but gums are MORE DAmagable(?) than hands and they were bleeding after i was doing so and i had to get used to not moving my tongue that much; but what im saying is im still not fully used to my tongue after a year, and sometimes when trying to fall asleep i feel discomfort from the halves touching eachother hahaha
so now sometimes i speak not as clear as before and one half is less controllable than other
besides those things i wanted to add something positive - I still can whistle and still can make a bubble with a gum!
hope this information helps someone because while i was doing my research ive never seen anyone speaking about first and third points i wrote
(i got my tongue split done in USA, LA for anyone wondering)
Doctors are legit so funny
So, Ive had my split for around a month now.
Since then Ive been to three doctors that had to look into my mouth. One for the stitch removal, one because I had a small bubble on the underside of my tongue that had filled with saliva and needed to be popped and one as the annual dentist.
All of them were warned in advance "hey, just a little warning, my tongue is split in the middle"
All of them looked completly horrified as I opened my mouth and asked: "...did you do that volentarily? 😨"
Like girl, whats the alternative? 😂
"I licked the tip of a knife. All the way down to the frenulum. It was a mess."
"I got blackout drunk at a party and my friends thought it would be a funny prank. 🤷🏻♀"
Long story short, tell me about your most interesting reactions of doctors regarding your mods :D
People who have vampire teeth, is it hard to give a blow job with them?
Am thinking of getting permanent vampire teeth as a graduation gift for myself, but am afraid it could ruin the way I perform oral sex on my male counterpart. I don’t wanna hurt anyone or cause scars or cuts on his genitalia.
So if you have vampire fangs or similar types of teeth, please let me know if it’s a possibility or if it’s just something you get used to.
Thank you before hand <3
Update 3 weeks
Got my tongue split by Steve truitt it was
fast
informational
almost painless.
Hell week was hellish day 3 was the worst. I couldn't fit my tongue into my mouth at this point. the tip of my tongue was stingy, and swallowing was something impossible. I lost 15 lbs from lack of food, but I stayed hydrated.
I went back to work on day 4, which was hard but doable
Week 2 was amazing , starting to talk way better. Swelling is all down from this point.
Now I have a tiny bit of regrowth, but I'm doing my stretches as often as possible. all in all, it was a really hard 1st week but 100%worth it and I would do it again.
Am itching to buy one but I’d like to see what they look like under the skin first.
Fresh tongue split
Split in march, so ecstatic to have this done after wanting it for 12 years!! I was very fortunate and didn't have much of a hell week at all! Was drinking and eating applesauce without a problem from day 1. Lidocaine patches for my lymph nodes were the biggest lifesaver for me, highly recommend having some + a wrap around ice pack. Feel much more myself now that i'm part of the snake squad 🐍
I got my tongue split a couple of hours ago. I’ve wanted this body mod for sooo many years, and now it’s finally done!
The pain is, weirdly enough, very bearable. The worst is probably yet to come, but I feel very prepared.
If people are interested, I’ll gladly document the coming days!
Hi, to start off i wanna say that I wanted to get a tongue split for a little while now. And ive finally secured an appointment with abril from abrilbodyart in august
But here comes the thing, sone of my old time friends, all of which very.. well.. "normative" are begging me not to do it. While I obviously dont care what others, especially from the very bland populus, are thinking it still puts doubt in my head.
Ive always been very disconnected from my wants and my body, depersonalization and such. Recently ive been trying to counteract it but its still not so easy. So whenever I question what I want it gets even harder to truly determine what I want. This is not me getting worried "will these people like it" but rather a second guess where im unsure If *I* really want it?
Everytime I look at myself and try to imagine the tongue split I feel nothing, because its hard to me to "see" something thats not there yet
Anyone else experienced this before?
Edit: also to give a bit of a background, I have quite a lot of tattoos, 2 sleeves, chest stomach etc, used to have a bunch of piercings but they rejected so after the split im getting these back to
Edit edit: thanks all, you helped me look more inwards and I definitely want one.
Ive heard people losing tongue sensation after their procedure, but I have the opposite issue. I feel a LOT more than I use to. Kissing feels crazy now. Not complaining tho i like it. Only regret I have is not pulling my tongue apart after getting my stitches taken out :[ regrowth is no joke.
24 hours since I had my tongue
Not gonna lie… now I understand why they call it hell week 😭
This pain is on a completely different level. It legit felt like having a horrible toothache mixed with an ear infection at the same time. I was literally crying lol.
And what’s wild is I’ve had a C-section and somehow this pain is competing HARD 😭
Still happy I got it done, but whew… this healing process is no joke. I’ll definitely post my full experience/process once I’m fully healed because I wish I knew just how intense day one could feel.
Has anyone gotten fangs done by Antagxnxst and how long did they last? How was your experience? There isn't a lot of information on them unfortunately and I would really like to know!
taking the leap and doin the damn thing!! my artist's gonna send me care instructions tomorrow but had to tell someone out in the universe cuz it aint gonna be my family
^((they'll find out the hard way at some point))
wanted to get it done so it heals decently well before i need to do more invisalign crap, got the OK from my dentist hehehehheehehehehe
dumb question if anyone reads this; how does healing a tongue split compare to wisdom teeth post-op? i healed pretty well after having all four wisdoms removed, it's the only other oral surgery i've had that could maybe compare
I recently read about an unusual body mod: making a small incision in the scrotum, gently pulling out the vas deferens, threading a titanium segment ring through it and closing the ring, putting everything back inside the scrotum, and stitching it back up. Basically just like in the sketch. It certainly carries its risks and so on, but it also has a certain appeal. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this before?
