I completed my undergraduate degree in Life Sciences/Biology and now I want to pursue an M.Sc. in Bioinformatics in India.

My main goals are:

-Strong placement/job opportunities

-Ai/Ml. + Bioinformatics exposure

-Industry -oriented curriculum

-Computational biology/genomics focus

- Good coding environment (Python, Linux, Data Science)

- Better opportunities for international careers in the future.

I am mainly looking for PRIVATE colleges/institutes because I missed some application deadlines for institutes like IBAB.

Can anyone suggest the best/top-tier private colleges for M.Sc. Bioinformatics in India?

I would really appreciate honest reviews about:

- Placements

- Average salary/packages

- Industry exposure

- Internship opportunities

- Research vs industry balance

- AI/ML integration

- Alumni outcomes

- Whether the course is worth it in 2026

I am especially interested in colleges like:

- JIIT Noida

- SRM

- Manipal

- Amity

- Any other good private institutes

Please share real experiences if possible, especially from current students or alumni.

Thank you!

Mtech inBioinformatics or MSc bioinformatics??

I have completed BE Biotechnology and qualified Gate this year and I have chances of getting Mtech Bioinformatics in MANIT Bhopal.

I had applied for Manipal for MSc bioinformatics and got the admission offer.

I am confused about which one to go with..

Completed 1st year BTech Bioinformatics – need course + project recommendations for compulsory internship

Hey everyone!

I just finished my 1st year of BTech in Bioinformatics. Before 2nd year starts, we have a compulsory internship requirement along with a compulsory project submission.

Since I'm doing it online (Coursera, Udemy, or similar platforms), I wanted to ask the community – what courses would you recommend that are actually useful for a bioinformatics student long-term?

I'm open to anything – Python, ML, genomics, structural bioinformatics, databases – as long as it ties back to bioinformatics in some way. Ideally something that also gives me a certificate I can use for the internship submission.

A few things I'd love help with:

\- Which platforms are best for bioinformatics-related courses?

\- Any specific courses or specializations you'd strongly recommend?

\- What skills are actually in demand if I want to go into research or industry later?

\- Any project ideas that would work well as a submission? Preferably something doable in a short timeframe but still impressive enough to submit.

Thanks in advance! Any advice from people already in the field would mean a lot 🙏

I just gave NEET this year and I don't think I'll be clearing the cutoff. I'm planning to go to Central University through CUET UG and do a Bio-related BSc. I have several ideas but I don't know how realistic or prospective they are. So please tell me which one should I be choosing.

my_qualifications : I'm a PCMB student but barely passed math in HS ( >60%)

  1. Bsc Biomedical Science from ANDC/BCAS - Go into pure research in India ( I don't have the means to go abroad) from reputed institutions.

  2. Bsc Biomedical Science/Life sciences and then pursue MSc in Bioinformatics

  3. Bsc - Msc Biotechnology

  4. Take up forensic sciences as a major

  5. Do Bsc - Msc - PhD in biosciences and become assistant professor/academic

  6. Bsc - Msc Psychology

I don't know about any other options currently. Feel free to suggest and please guide me what should I pursue.

My priority is grabbing a decently stable income after 7-8 years from now ( I don't care if it's not very high end, 60k/month will be considered quite good) alongwith intellectually stimulating and fulfilling career.

My priority, interest wise would be 1. Psychology 2. Bioinformatics. So can you please give any idea about what I can realistically expect from Bioinformatics degree in India?

Hello! I'm a third-year UG student. I am applying for the IBAB M.Sc entrance exam. Which of the two courses should i choose?

  1. M.Sc in Big Data Biology
  2. M.Sc in Biotechnology and bioinformatics

I am a Zoology student, I have research-level experience in bioinformatics (protein sequencing, structure, and data mapping), and I want to pursue the field of bioinformatics. Can anyone explain the differences between the two or recommend which field i should choose?

Hi everyone! I am a doctoral candidate doing my Psy.D. I’m currently conducting a research study exploring marital experiences, cultural beliefs, and women’s well-being, and I would really appreciate your support. I would be very grateful if you took the time to share this as well.

Why this study is important:
Marital sexual trauma is a complex and often under-discussed issue, especially across different cultural contexts. Many women’s experiences remain unheard due to stigma, cultural expectations, and a lack of open conversation. This study aims to better understand how cultural values, gender roles, and beliefs about consent shape these experiences and their impact on mental health (such as anxiety, depression, and trauma).

The value of your participation:
Your voice can help:

  • Increase awareness of an overlooked issue
  • Contribute to more culturally sensitive mental health care
  • Inform better education, support systems, and future research

What to expect:

  • A brief online survey
  • Completely anonymous (no identifying information collected)
  • Your responses will remain confidential
  • Takes approximately 25-30 mins.

To Participate:

  • Citizens of India
  • Between the ages of 18 & 70
  • Currently married or previously married
  • Identifies as a heterosexual woman
  • Fluent in English

Incentive:
Participants can choose to enter a raffle to receive a gift card as a thank-you for their time.

If you are a married woman (ages 18–70) and are interested in participating, please click the link below:

Thank you for helping bring visibility to important experiences and contributing to meaningful research

Hey guys, any seniors in IBAB who could tell me what were the timings the exam was held at and are we assigned centers or is it remotely proctored? Asking this cause I had booked tickets unknowingly on May 23rd.
