Why does the airport only have one commercial flight a day

Trying to find flights out of ACY to West Palm/Palm Beach and it feels like there’s basically one option a day — and somehow it’s always at the worst possible time. I get that Spirit disappearing messed things up for everyone, but who actually wants a 6:30 PM flight to Florida that turns a 2.5-hour trip into a 4+ hour layover adventure?

Anyway, this is mostly just me complaining. Feel free to roast me.

Atlantic City Mother’s Day Weekend Vlog 🌊🎰 Hard Rock Hotel + Beach Views

Hey everyone 💕 I’m a small lifestyle/travel vlogger and I just posted my Atlantic City vlog from Mother’s Day weekend.

It’s a short vlog featuring the drive to Atlantic City, staying at the Hard Rock Hotel, a hotel suite tour, food, exploring, beach views, and a little honest reflection. This trip was such a needed reset, so I wanted the vlog to feel relaxing, real, and easy to watch.

I’d love feedback from other travel vloggers:

• Did the title/thumbnail make you want to click?

• Did the vlog feel relaxing or too slow?

• What would make you keep watching or subscribe?

I’m also happy to check out other travel vloggers too. Drop your latest vlog and I’ll support back genuinely ✨

Temple University to open first campus(Medical school) in New Jersey

Just wanted to share this.

I also tbh didn't expect Temple to be the partner for this.

But overall, pretty cool.

Does anyone have a guess where Atlanticare will build this in AC(like empty land) near the hospital?

Tipping in AC Hotels

Checking out of Harrah’s this morning and wondering if I need to change my tipping strategy. I do $5 for housekeeping plus another $5 for each time they made up my room during the stay. They don’t come daily and sometimes I can go five days without seeing anyone. I tip valets $5 for bringing bags to my room, but not if they’re just storing them. (On the theory that they’re just rolling it down a hallway; takes 90 seconds.) Comped meals, I estimate what it should have cost and tip 20%.

The theory is, for housekeeping, to augment minimum wage to get them to $25 or $30 per hour. The problem being is that I just twigged that tipped workers in NJ make $6 minimum, not $16. If they don’t get enough tips, the hotel has to pay them $16. But the infuriating thing is that if I’m the only person who tips, that goes to the hotel (defraying the bump to $16), not the worker.

Makes me wonder if I’ve been an asshole. Your thoughts?

Atlantic City Stay

Hello. Looking at coming to visit for the first time late next month. The Airbnb I have is near Grammercy Pl/Ocean Blvd/Deleware Ave area not sure of exact spot because you don’t get the address ahead of time but I know it’s close to Oceans Resort. I am not seeing the best reviews on the inlets and residential areas. Do I cut my losses and find something in brigantine or is this area okay to stay in? Will have kids with me.

Prefacing with I never do this. I met Peter at the free bet blackjack table in MGM Grand. We’re both rewards members. You were in from NY to attend a sports tech conference around April 20th. We were both obsessed with blackjack and you said “I’ve never met the girl version of me.” My guy friend came to meet me and I think you thought he was my boyfriend. If this is you or you think you know Peter send me a DM! You were doing something when I sat down at the table. What was it?

Between the Pine Barrens, the Jersey Devil legend, and some genuinely eerie historical sites, there’s a lot here that keeps coming up in discussions, investigations, and local stories.

Curious how many people here have actually explored any of these spots or had experiences of their own.

Here are a few places that come up again and again:

1. Pine Barrens / Leeds Point (Jersey Devil territory)
This is basically ground zero for the Jersey Devil legend. Leeds Point is often cited as the origin story going back to the 1700s.

  • Dense pine forests, cedar swamps, and the “pygmy forest” areas
  • Reports over the years of strange sounds, high-pitched screams, and sightings of something moving through the trees at night

2. The Blue Hole (Winslow area)
A deep, perfectly circular blue pool hidden in the woods that a lot of locals consider one of the creepiest spots in South Jersey.

  • Known for the “bottomless” legend and strong undertow
  • A lot of people mention that heavy feeling like you’re being watched when you get close

3. Batsto Village (Wharton State Forest)
Old iron-working village from the Revolutionary War era that’s now a historic site.

  • Frequently mentioned in ghost stories and paranormal investigations
  • People talk about shadow figures, movement between buildings, and general activity after dark

4. Absecon Lighthouse (Atlantic City)
One of the oldest lighthouses in the U.S., and a pretty well-known spot for paranormal stories.

  • Reports of footsteps on the stairs and unexplained smells (like cigar smoke)
  • Also tied to the “black dog” legend seen along the coast before storms

5. Smithville (White Lady sightings)
Most people know Smithville as a shopping village, but it has its own share of ghost stories.

  • Sightings of a woman in white near the lake and walking paths
  • Often connected to older Pine Barrens folklore

A couple things locals always seem to mention when talking about this stuff:

  • The Pine Barrens go dead quiet right before something feels off
  • New moon nights are supposedly the most active
  • And obviously… don’t go wandering onto private land

Not trying to turn this into a guide—just genuinely curious:

Has anyone here actually experienced anything in the Pine Barrens or around Atlantic County?
Or even just visited one of these places at night?

Would be interesting to hear what people have seen (or didn’t see).

Nightlife for Mid-20’s crowd?

Hey all,

Visiting Atlantic City for a long weekend in July with a group of mid-20’s. Mainly looking for nightlife spots that would have similar aged people, but open to anything that you think would be cool for people our age.

Thanks!

Dolphin Cove Condos in Brigantine

Is there anyone that can provide insight onto what it’s like living there? It sounds like there have been issues with the condo management in the past. Thanks.

ISO suggestions: Low key trip, good food, cheap entertainment

Haven’t been to AC in nearly a decade.. Taking a last minute trip with my husband for the first week of June so I’m looking for recommendations on solid food spots, cheapish entertainment (or shows worth spending on), things to do or see or tips on areas to avoid. Hoping for good weather to enjoy beach days but haven’t had time to ourselves in so long that idk what else we’d do tbh. We’re late 30’s, boring, drink but too old and tired to party, without the kids for a week and just taking the trip to spend time together and relax before a chaotic next few months where we’ll be on opposite coasts. Our condo is not on the boardwalk but I’m sure we’ll head that way at some point. Any suggestions appreciated!

Does Ocean have some kind of mobile/email check in that doesn't require you to go to the front desk?

I have a trip coming up but will be arriving pretty late (11PM~), I wasn't sure if I need to call them to let them know I'll be a late arrival, or if they maybe just have some other method of checking in I could do on the road there that would remove the issue altogether? I know Borgata has something like this with their app, not sure about Ocean.

Hello. Philly guy here. I have a strong sentimental streak for AC, so I follow this sub.

An old college buddy contacted me. His son is doing a summer internship in AC. He asked if his son should take an apartment on Montpelier near Pacific. While I know AC, I usually am down the north end. So I asked a buddy who works in AC daily.

That buddy said that intersection is not good. He would not recommend it to his worst enemy.

That seems hyperbolic.

I was hoping to get some informed opinions from Reddit for those who have their boots on the ground in Atlantic City near there.
