Damn, she could sing.

What a voice. Flavour, depth, control - sensual, playful, confident. She sounds completely inside the song. So warm you can almost touch.

But I’m sorry: the production on this track drives me mad. There are too many distractions.

To my ear, the saxophone and clarinet don’t accompany her. They keep crowding her. Almost arguing with her. I just want them to get out of the way and let the vocal and the song breathe.

I’d love to hear the original mix stripped back, with those parts removed, and rebuilt by someone with a bit more empathy for what she’s doing. There's a heart beat waiting to be found behind that collage.

Perhaps you have to be a Muso to hear it.

Is it just me? Or do others hear this kind of musical impatience in some of her other backing tracks too?

Such a beautiful performance. I just wish the arrangement served it better.

I'd like to watch some of Amy's live performances that have been recorded on DVD, such as her "Unplugged" shows. Which ones would you recommend, and where can I watch them?
