I painted something like this some time ago (to be exact, 12 years ago). As you can see, the goal was to create a 3D tarantula effect on a helmet. It was also a kind of test for me - trying out the capabilities of a new airbrush, the Iwata Custom Micron. Back then, I realized important thing: that it doesn’t work like that - you don’t just buy expensive equipment and expect it to paint for you. I had a tool with huge potential, but I simply didn’t have the skills to fully use it at the time. To this day, I’ve actually taken that Micron out of the box only a few times.

Do you premix your thinner and flow improver?

I can't be the only one annoyed by the design of the vallejo bottles when trying to count the number of drops.

I've seen a number people also say they premix thinner and flow improver in like a 4:1 ratio, but what bottles do they use for that?

Is this a good beginner airbrush for miniature painting?

I’ve always wanted to get into airbrush and have never had the money or time but now I do. I’ve been cruising through FB marketplace and have been seeing this kit for 70 bucks and I’m wondering if it would be a good beginner airbrush to paint some miniatures.
