Absolute joke prices

Stopped at my local ace for some 5 gallon buckets(4 of them) and was flabbergasted at the price of 34 dollars. I thought she rang me up for two extra buckets or something. Homer buckets are 3.88. Literally going to drive 5 miles further to get double the buckets for my money. What a joke

I currently have an interview coming up for Ace Hardware. Do you guys find that they’re strict about (small) tattoos showing? If there’s any managers here, does that change your opinion on hiring them?

Ace employees, do you like working here and is it a difficult job if you don’t know much about hardware?

If this isn’t the right place to post that’s my bad. I just thought this would be the first place to ask lol

I’ve worked at a relatively small ace for about 3 years now. I started at 16 and I’m turning 19 at the end of the month. My store has been through a lot. 2 owners, 3 time clock apps, and a whole lot of staff. If anyone is on the fence about working here, don’t be. In my experience this job will teach you so much about basic diy and other trades to the point where when I started I didn’t know the difference between pvc and abs to now knowing how to plumb a whole bathroom. Since it was my second job I didn’t start out at very much ($12) but I’ve made my way up to $14.75 which is decent for a small town in wyoming. The only things I get tired of is my manager of course, and being given more responsibilities for less pay. Our ace has a contract postal unit and I work in there. I also carry keys and work as “maintenance” as I’m very handy. My manager often has me replacing floor and ceiling tiles, stripping and waxing floors, painting, and general maintenance which sucks but what am I going to do.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask!

What do you guys do with your old display stuff? Like the display faucets and whatnot?

We have a whole section of new faucets to display and put on the shelves but my owner doesn't want to put them out until the others have sold, and they don't sell well... I'm afraid they will get clustered like everything else, because he wants to constantly bring in new items, but keep the old items on the floor still. He wants to sell the display faucets at a discounted price but I don't know...
