New to XKAH. Is my hookah tobacco supposed to look weird?

Hey everyone. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I just got my XKAH last week. Shipping took about 12 days which i guess makes sense if it’s coming from overseas maybe similar to stuff you’d find on alibaba.

Anyway i've been smoking regular hookah for like 8 years now but I'm completely new to this style of device.

I bought some blonde leaf tobacco from a local shop. Can't remember the brand name. When i opened the pack it looked really dry compared to what I'm used to in a normal bowl. Is that normal for XKAH or did I get a bad batch?

Also how much should i pack in there? I watched a few videos and some people say dense pack. Some say 9 grams. Some say 14. I tried 11 grams at 280 degrees and got almost no smoke. I tried 290 and it tasted burnt after like 4 puffs.

I'm clearly doing something wrong.

Does dark leaf work better than blonde? Do i need to mix them? Should i put the dark on top or bottom?

I'd really appreciate any help. I just wanna get one good session before I decide if i wasted my money or not.

Thanks in advance.

Tips for blonde leaf and dark/blonde mixes?

I got the Xkah a couple days ago and ran through multiple sessions. With mixed results. Once I watched the moasmokes video (among others) with the 9g - 11g pack and starting at 290/285 and scaling down the results were much better with dark tabaccos. Still having trouble with just blonde leaf and blonde/dark mixes. Not sure if the blonde should be mixed or packed in layers with dark or light facing the heating element. I used eternal smoke, starline and serebetli for reference. If anyone got good results with a specific method would love to know. I read about dense 14g packs with dark tabaccos too, haven't tried it yet. Would like to know if others had any experience with this. Any insight/advice would be much appreciated.
