Xiaomi Phone and Tab | Did I make the right call?

Just placed an order for both of this devices last night. I already ordered a Xiaomi pad 7 before for a lesser price (11.3k) and I think this is the lowest it will go down this time.

Xiaomi Pad 7 is for my little sister and the Redmi Note 15 Pro is for my dad.

Did I make the right call? Should I worry about having another best option for price to value ratio?

Thanks!

I switched from Xiaomi pad 7 to ipad air M3

I was already in apple ecosystem. I like the pad 5 before hand but the pad 7 comes with so many bugs that it makes it harder to use and I actually spend more time finding way to make it work rather than using the tablet itself.

I say the ipad air is more powerful and lightweight. Havent even noticed the 144 hz rate in games i play in xiaomi pad 7 anyway.

Xiaomi Pad 7 battery totally drained during night

Hi.
As my header, it has started to appear now the last week.

During the night, the battery appears to be drained completely, so when I'm about to use the Pad on the morning, it does not respond to anything.
Plugging in the charger will make the red-light blink and indication that the battery is completely drained.

I bought it from the original owner, but the Pad was completely new and un-opened.

Anyone experienced the same

I will try to evaluate and see if it happens again, not sure why it appears to happen during the night, since im not using it.

Maybe do a factory reset. Is there any other error code or test I can do to the battery, like a hidden menu to evaluate the battery?

Or else, I'll have to try to RMA it to Xiaomi. I do have the original receipt with an IMEI number matching my Pad

Is HyperOS 3 reduce the performance or the utilization of a hardware?

For context, I just scored a second hand Pad 7 8/256gb model for 210 USD in a mint condition, which i think its insane value for the money. I love everything about this tablet except a few minor thing:

  1. The screen isnt as bright as i was expected, I had to use it at like 70-80% brightness most of the time even indoor
  2. The performance isnt as good as i've seen most ppl tested on youtube? I saw alot of ppl tested Genshin Impact on high setting with almost consistent 60fps, but on this tablet? theres frame drop on even Medium setting? its not a major issue as i dont game alot anyway but it got me wonder, is it because of the HyperOS 3? or am i missing something?
  3. There's no way to turn the icon round? and no haptic feedback? its not major its just kinda strange that its not standardize yet

What is your experience on HyperOS 3? im curious

Caps Light Always On Xiaomi Keyboard

I have a Pad 7 Pro with the standard Xiaomi keyboard. Since a few weeks, the caps light is always on. When I press it dissapeared but comes back on after 1 second. I rebooted and detached the keyboard but in vain.

The keyboard works perfectly, no issues except the light is always on.

Someone else has the same problem , so it’s either a hardware or software issue.

Any tempered glass recommendation

Hello, can you recommend any good screen protector brand. I bought one for $8 but feels like cheap. Texture feels rough and a fingerprint magnet and makes my screen looks a bit yellowish.

How to force/enable 144Hz on Xiaomi Pad 7

I recently picked up the Xiaomi Pad 7 specifically for its 144Hz display to use as a dedicated local game streaming handheld. However, I’m having trouble ensuring the display actually runs at the full 144Hz while streaming, which is crucial for the latency benefits I'm looking for.

Despite the Xiaomi Pad 7 supporting up to 144Hz, the stream often feels like it's capped or defaulting to 60/120Hz only. I’ve adjusted the settings in the Artemis (Moonlight) app to 144fps, but I suspect HyperOS might be throttling the refresh rate or the app isn't triggering the high-refresh mode correctly.

What I've tried:

  • Manually selecting "up to 144Hz" in the Xiaomi display settings
  • Checking Sunshine/Apollo encoder settings to ensure the host is pushing 144fps.
  • Enabling Game Turbo

My Setup:

  • Host PC: Ryzen 9 5900X | RTX 5070 Ti 16GB.
  • Host Software: Sunshine (using the Apollo fork).
  • Client Device: Xiaomi Pad 7 (HyperOS 3).
  • Client Software: Moonlight (using the Artemis fork).
  • Network: Local 5GHz Wi-Fi (minimal network jitter).
