International ATM fee in Colombia

WS cash card has been a life saver in Colombia where ATM fees are brutal, ranging around 10$ to 12$ (26k-29k COP). Even a supposedly cheaper alternative was charging about 9$. And since Colombia is still pretty strong on cash payment, especially in the more local shops but also in some hotels (we incountered two), you will have to withdraw.

We tried to optimized and withdraw about the biggest amounts we could get, but we ended up still need to do 4 transactions, which were all of them reimbursed by WS. That’s around 45$ we would need to pay otherwise.

Would be good if upcoming Visa bill pay appeared in chequing scheduled

I use the chequing scheduled section to make sure I've got enough cash in my account at any moment. it'd be nice if there was that level of integration.

(Un)real deal match bonus timeline first payment

Does anyone know when we can expect to confirm if we want the 1%, 2% or 3% match and receive our first payment? I realize the deal just closed last week and I'm not concerned, just wondering

Font sizes for spend and invest values are very tiny

Font sizes for spend and invest values are very tiny

Since last week, I noticed that the spend, and invest values have a very tiny font size. I manually updated the app, and it didn’t fix the issue. I’m using an iPhone 16 pro.

Trouble with CCA error messages

I understand that I cannot use CCA to take the profit on my rentals into negative (loss) territory, but I can't figure out how to force WS to allow me to apportion the right amount of CCA to reduce my modest (like $2k) profit on rentals to zero. It appears that WS is intent on me trying to claim ALL the CCA that exists for me.

Does Wealthsimple still use Fireblocks for crypto?

Does Wealthsimple still use Fireblocks for crypto?

Was thinking of buying and holding crypto in WS, and so was trying to find more information and came across this.

Transfer cash into WealthSimple directly

is there a way to transfer money into my account that does not use a service like plaid which harvests my financial data? I just want to link a bank account and transfer cash to WealthSimple.

Dark mode might need a second look

Dark mode might need a second look

Device: MacBook, Browser: Safari

Device: MacBook, Browser: Safari

I have dark mode enabled at the system level, and parts of the UI become unreadable because some text appears to be explicitly styled as #F5F4F4 under \@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark).

It’s a small bug, but also the kind of thing that usually points to bigger theming / design system consistency issues.

If anyone at Wealthsimple is hiring for Front-end or Full-stack Engineering, I’d be happy to help build responsive, accessible, scalable design systems. Have experience building component library with ReactTS, TailwindCSS, Storybook, DMs open.

Are the days of really enticing offers over?

I seem to recall a couple of years ago there being better offers to transfer money over. Like a percentage match + transfer fee payment + ski tickets.

Now it seems to be a refreshing 3% offer month over month, or maybe it was always April 30 but I could’ve sworn it was March before. It’s still better than a kick in the teeth!

Maybe WS knows that many people prefer them now and no longer feel the need for these added bonuses (unless you’re transferring a million and want an iPhone or something….and while I hope to get to to that point, I’m far from it today).
