The issue with delays isn't your bank, it seems interac is having issues with etransfer (since 9am or so)
My husband and I have been living in the sane house since 2009 and always had great relationship with next door neighbors. In 2014 her husband passed so we've been helping her with yard work, snow removal and I'd always offer to get her groceries (she'd always pay, it was just getting them). Being elderly and with mobility issues I felt bad for her. She had home aid nurse coming 4 times a week but was still very able for being in her 80s.
They have 4 children and 3 live over an hour away, one in the dame city (20min away) but they didn't visit much at all, maybe a few times a year (and two I've seen only 3 times in 17 years). She didn't say anything bad about them, just basically that they're busy and it's ok.
Her husband was an executive with a large mining company for decades and they were always well off as far as we could see so it wasn't financial issues, just sad seeing her miss her kids and grandkids while still making it seem like it's ok/trying to excuse them not visiting.
She passed away in February, we went to the funeral and it was attended by a lot of people, but even there one of her kids didn't come (her daughter said it's because of work).
We got a letter from her attorney about the will and eventually we found out she left us (included both of us in the will) the house/cars (she had one car that sat in the garage for 6 years plus 2 classic cars her husband owned) and then she also left a significant amount of money for our 3 children. The will shows she left nothing for her children but she did leave money in trust for her grandkids.
Obviously her kids were not happy, two said they want to contest the will but the lawyer was very clear saying there's no competency issues or anything to contest.
We didn't expect anything or want anything but honestly I've always been way more mad at her kids than she was so I'm not about to say we don't want anything and give it to her kids who ignored her for years.
Should we just let the process take place without doing anything or would it better to get our own lawyer just to make sure everything is on the up and up?
