Something happen this morning that made me think we have Disneyed too hard this year. We had one of our first nice days this year where we live. It had also rained. My daughter walks outside and goes "it smells like Living on the Land out here." I was like ooo, I feel like it should be "Living on the Land smells like spring."
Anyone had a moment like that?

According to my kids, today was the best day ever. We did Magic Kingdom with lightning lane multipass and between that and staying until close, we got to ride everything on our wish list. We rode Pirates twice (once with LLMP and once as a walk on in the evening), Peter Pan twice (both as walk ons after the fireworks), Tiana and Mine Train (these were the only two long waits- about an hour each). Was it crowded? Yes, very, but I don't have a reference for what normal is and the crowds really didn't negatively impact us at all. I feel like the Lightning lane multi pass worked really well; we were able to get 6 rides out of it. The weather was great, the rides were beautiful, and the cast members were so kind to the kids. It really was a great day.
I was somewhat devastated when I learned that Splash Mountain would be going away. I adored that ride. And I still do miss the characters and the music.
But I have to say I was blown away by the refurb. I rode it yesterday and I really wasn’t expecting it to be done as well as it is. They really nailed it. The outside of the attraction looks better than ever. And I think the video they added to the ride is actually really tasteful. The animatronics are great. The tunes are great. The merch is abundant. Awesome all around.

I tried 3 different color schemes and the 2026 one honestly clears the other two.

Nearly exactly a year ago I made a similar post to this. How does one deal with the Post-Disney Depression. Well? I booked another trip. But here I am, another year later, crying on my couch at home after another wonderful trip.
Here are my questions:
• How does Disney manage to have this grip on me so that all I want to do is vacation there forever?
• Is there a calendar out there that shows slower times of the year for Disney resorts?
The bottom line is that I'm not messing around this time, I'm already looking toward another trip.

I loved them so much! I was so sad when they stopped making them. I would use them religiously and read them from cover to cover. Back before there was so much social media and YouTube, I got all my Disney info from these books and Disboards.
This was the last book I got in 2015. I would buy them every so many trips and would just make any updates on the maps for anything new. You have to look at the HS map! 😂 I think I used these maps from 2015 for a few trips after that before I really switched over the the app.
I loved the maps though! I liked how everything was labeled instead of numbered like on the park maps. It was much easier to find things quickly! I remember carrying the book with us in the park in the early years when we had a stroller and diaper bag but then would just take the maps.
I loved how they always had the toddler and kid tips for each of the attractions. These books were just much simpler than all the endless info online! I always loved the planning aspect of Disney but now there’s just too much planning I think. (can we bring back paper fast passes and no phones? Haha)
Anyway, I was going through some old stuff and came across my book and had to get it out and reminisce!

Does Katsura Grill serve sushi/rolls? The menu leads me to believe it does not, but I have heard mention that they do.... its the only thing my son wants and I dont think I can commit the whole family to sit down sushi :(
I’m trying to get into roller coasters after never wanting anything to do with them.
I can handle speed (Test Track is one of my favorite rides), but I hate the sinking feeling I get in my stomach during a drop. Even the drop in Pirates is a little much for me.
But I want to expand what I do at the parks, (plus I want to go to Universal one day and half of the rides there are coasters).
Completely ignoring speed, how would you rank the coaster just by their drops? Thanks for any help!
Thank you to everyone who gave advise to make our trip this week so great. My brother in law is hardcore and gets there an hour before rope drop and literally runs to the first ride but that’s not my family. We went to Epcot on Sunday and Magic Kingdom on Wednesday with Premier Passes and I couldn’t have done it any other way but with the long lines I did expect to wait some kind of portion of the wait time but that didn’t happen. It was always about the same so no reason to rush around in any order. Longest wait time was 210 minutes yesterday at Hollywood Studios for Rise of the Resistance. We had multi passes for HS and didn’t go to AK bc of all the closures. The wait times at Universal Studios was grossly over stated. We waited 100 minutes for Hagert’s Motorbikes but it was quoted for 180 minutes. We only did 3 rides at Universal bc of waits and no fast passes there for us. But that was probably my favorite ride. The day we went to Epcot they must have delayed the buses bc they all came 30 minutes late and when they started they had a bunch come at once. Guardians was closed most of the day and we didn’t get to ride that because we were on our way out when it started back up. Test Track wasn’t working when we first got there and we waited less 5 minutes with 60-90 minute wait. They closed it again later and made everyone leave the line, felt bad for them. Frozen Ever After was up and down too that day. We also saw Drawn to Life and were able to get a back stage tour. It was a great trip even though I had a stomach virus for half the trip and the other I picked up a bad cold. I just felt like it costs too much and alot of the food wasn’t nearly as good as it used to be especially Gaston’s cinnamon roll. I took your suggestion for dinner at MK and ate at —— Canteen near Jungle Cruise. That was yummy and we sat in the back in one of the quiet rooms with stained glass parrot over head lamps. The beignets were amazing and they have “Beignets all day” merch right now and even Beignets mouse ears. Overall it’s what we make of it but there were a lot of frustrated people. I wish the fast dining at Riverside didn’t have the exact same menu every night. We loved our pool day at Ol’ Man’s island. We had a room with upgrade for location and we were in building 27 which was great to be close to food and the island without being too close to where everyone comes out of the main building. Our room faced Ol Mans island but it was wooded so you couldn’t see any of the stuff. A tip for pool, people were putting towels out to hold chairs and that isn’t allowed so after 3 hours some people started taking over. The towels have the disclaimer that they are for use and not for holding chairs.
Adding to the collective reddit knowledge: successful magic kingdom with an almost 5 year old.
We did ft wilderness cabins with the dining plan, price was around $4K for the package +1.25K for extras and rental car, +1K for airfare on spirit. We also did multi lighting lane for 2 days of MK, and added on seven dwarves and Tron.
BLUF: don't sweat the small stuff, use the lightning lane, and take a rest day/half day. 4-5 year old with a stroller is a magical time to bring your kid.
First day, We did a lazy rope drop for jungle cruise and then did most everything in the west side of the park and some stuff in fantasyland. We lucked out with some walkons when the line just opened, buzz light-year and barnstormer. The longest line we did was Dumbo which was listed at 15 but grew to 45 or so. Tiana was surprisingly good and the magic band lighting up was actually 'magic' at least for the kiddo.
Between days we did Blizzard beach. We got there at noon and easily I stayed until close. Little tikes was very benign but we worked up to the toboggan slides. We tried to do campfire at the end of the day but we were worn out by the sun.
2nd MK day we lazy rope dropped space mountain and then knocked out tomorrow land and the castle area. People mover is surprisingly good. The longest line we waited in was for LeFrou brew. Got a buzz light-year, we took photos up until this point so we could talk about what was the one thing he really wanted to get.
We rested before fireworks (Tinkerbell), Tron for me (broke down but came up 25 minutes later), and seeing the night lights. Kiddo was hard asleep as soon as hapoly ever after ended and we had a peaceful last ferry ride back to the cabin. We even got some heavy rain! Finished with a pony ride, swimming at the Meadows (finally made it there!), and used up the last of our dining plan credits at the Polite Pig.
Didn't get to do the skyline to scope out Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but we'll be doing that when we we come back in 5 years (thinking Jamaican beach and 7 days with a rest day between each park we missed).
Ask away! And if anyone has recommendations for 5 years from now I'm all thumbs.
My family is coming to Disney World in a few weeks, and I'm trying to decide where to get a Magicband for my 5 year old daughter. The online selection seems ok (I see some princess, Minnie, and Little Mermaid stuff), but I'm wondering if there would be a wider selection in the various shops around Disney World.
We're staying at Pop Century, so the easiest place to look would be the shop there. Could anyone give me an idea of the general Magicband selection around the park, and whether there are many more options than what is available online?
If we have a 7:10 reservation for Geo-82 will we be able to stay for the fireworks? I didn’t see a time limit, would they ask you to leave? Thanks!!
My daughter is 5 and has super thin, fine hair. I can't really get it into a bun or pony tail at all. What are the hairstyles offered at BBB? I don't really want to spend the money if they can't do anything with her hair. She loves makeup, but I feel like the hair is a big part of the makeover!
