Yesterday I watched a video from youtube and of course it was about cars. 😅

Nothing new but the guy said that if you don't look back for your car after you parked it, it's not your car.

Safe to say this is my car and I really love it ❤️

Please take your time, enjoy and say hi 🤭🫣

Take care ❤️

Bought the T6 - Thanks for the Help!

Thanks to everyone who helped recommend the T6 XC70. I ended up picking up this beautiful 2012 XC70 T6 Platinum with 127k miles for $7,600. Excited to get some level set maintenance done and pick up a few things (black cargo cover for example).

My first own Volvo XC70, MY2012. I drove it over 300,000 kilometers, every week for 4 years between Berlin and Zurich, max 140 km/h on the german autobahn, and many trips to Norway. A great car, I miss it.

magsafe vent mount - which one?

there are dozens of these on amazon, seemingly of mixed quality.

which of these holds up the best, with or without charging? would sacrifice it for a better fit/magnet.

Transmission fluid preference?

Do you guys think that OEM transmission fluid for a 2005 XC70 really matters that much or will the Valvoline equivalent be fine for a drain and fill. Also, should i do a drain and fill on a 158k transmission?

Most reliable version to buy?

Hey guys,

I’m currently in the market for my first XC70, but honestly I’m completely overwhelmed with information, especially all the negative feedback online (including from ChatGPT… yeah, I know).

For some context: I have a farm in Portugal, and during winter it gets pretty muddy, but my 2018 VW T6 FWD actually manages surprisingly well. I also do at least three long trips per year between Portugal and the Netherlands (around 2,300 km / 1,430 miles one way), and sometimes another 1,000 km (620 miles) onward to Berlin.

My VW still has Dutch plates, and because of tax reasons I’d like to leave the van in the Netherlands for a few months each year. Also, for these long drives, the van gets pretty exhausting.

I’m not too picky about the XC70 generation. I’m a big fan of both the facelifted P2 and facelifted P3 models.

That said, I’ve read a lot of negative comments about certain years and drivetrains: AWD/Haldex issues, diesel-related clogging problems, some 2015 models burning excessive oil, etc.

So my main question is: what are the most reliable years and engines?

Would you go FWD or AWD? Diesel or petrol? I’m basically trying to avoid unnecessary headaches and get the simplest, most reliable setup possible.

For reference, I already own:

A 2018 VW T6 (around €2,500 in maintenance last year alone)
A 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.5 TD (another €500 last year) it held amazingly well in my last trip to the Netherlands.
A 1993 Nissan Pickup mainly for farm use (€750 this year)

I was originally planning to spend around €10k, but XC70 prices seem pretty crazy these days. I’m considering cars with up to around 250,000 km (155,000 miles).

Any suggestions or recommendations would be hugely appreciated.

V70XC 2001 maintenance

Hi, recently I bought Volvo V70XC (manual) make year 2001 with 370k kilometers on odometr. It has 2.4 T gasoline engine (147kW). I want to do some maintenance, such as timing belt, fluid change, etc. I know that common problem is that PCV is not working, I have already fixed it. So I have some questions:

What is best to do / check on this car so that it will last long?

Should I, or is it even possible to change oil in visco coupling?

Thanks. (Also sorry for my english)

Hello all, just bought a 2006 XC70. I've driven it about 300 mi now and it just started misfiring yesterday. I don't think the spark plugs and coils have been done in several years.

My question is besides for plugs and coils are there any other things that I should be looking for that would cause this misfire specifically with this make and model? I will be taking apart the air box and cleaning the MAF sensor too.

Hi all,

I recently test drove a 2007 xc70 (has about 110k miles on it).

The drive felt pretty good and smooth. Brakes, suspension, steering, acceleration felt good as well.

However there were a few warning lights on (attached images for you to see), and the OBD2 scanner showed a "P0442" code on it. Looking up online, I know that code means a small leak in the EVAP system (likely caused by a loose fuel cap gasket). The airbags also need to be serviced as well (was going to get it done regardless).

Now, my concern is whether that small issue is triggering the rest of the warnings or are they going to be separate issues (abs module/rear diff/AWD module)? I'm finding mixed answers where I'm looking, but I figured posting here and asking people who actually own one might help me get a better insight.

Other than that, the thing was in immaculate condition. All the electronics worked, AC was ice cold, and interior/exterior are incredibly clean.

I really like the xc70s (especially the P2s), and hope to own one soon.

I will appreciate any help/guidance.

Thanks for your time!

Couldn’t find anything online. Some sort of roller divider or screen storage, perhaps?

driving to work and a 175 lb deer decided it no longer wanted to live, so it un -alived itself while i was doing 40mph... passenger headlight, passenger side fender, passenger front and rear door all damaged. its a red 06 with 201k on it. all

locally in delaware there are none for sale, insurance said its going to be totalled. how would i get replacement value estimates to ensure i get my actual value for the car?

ive stopped at a few car lots and similiar yr/mileage cars are priced at 6-8k.. but i cant find many volvos

Found one of these with 85,000 kms on it for sale. Car has zero rust or wear and a clean carfax. Dealer wants $12.9 for it.

My quick scan of listings indicates the price is fair. Drives perfectly.

Anything we should be looking for or is this a pretty safe buy?

Will it be as good as our Subaru in the snow? Subaru is a 22 Impreza that I put studded Hakkas on and it’s wildly good. Volvo isn’t to replace Subaru, it’s just a cool car we would like to add to our fleet.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

My center speaker has gone fuzzy after 23 years of hard earned service. so after doing some basic checks, I found an 8ohm 6.5" mid-bass woofer that'll fit just right with some modification. It's too late to fit it in tonight, but tomorrow will be the true test of all those screws and bolts in the dashboard (or if it'll even work properly) lol.

Update: Ive fitted it, it works (kind of) and the only thing I have to do is trim the grill to fit better with the sound insulation i put in. The only problem is it needs more power. I suspect the head unit doesnt have enough power to overcome the magnet stregnth. I would enter the HU-803 secret menu to ajust the outpot but the display stopped working about a year ago (I've memorised all the other radio options and it still works). The alternative is get a mini amp just to boost the output or get a spares or repair HU-803 and swap out the display board.
