Nu e an in care sa nu ma intorc cu placere in muntii Macinului. Am ales acelasi traseu de anul trecut insa parcurs in sens invers cu unele mici variatii.

Suluku Mare - saua Imbulzita - Poiana de Sus - vf. Tutuiatu prin valea Viilor

Ziua 2 - vf. Tutuiatu - poiana Racova - vf. Moroianu II - poiana Cozluk prin valea Otulu si valea lui Deda - saua Secaru - vf. Secaru - Pietrele Mariei - Greci

Zaga Zaga, Delta Siretului, Vrancea

Bran Castle is doctoring Google reviews

Hey guys!

My girlfriend and I took a short trip to Romania and it was one of the best trips in our lives, but we had one negative experience and I feel I need to warn people about it.

We visited the castles of Peles and Bran on the same day, and Bran castle was arguably the biggest sightseeing disappointment I've had in my entire life. For the record, we know it's not Vlad's actual castle (and we know Vlad Tepes wasn't actually a vampire), but we wanted to see it since everyone said it was a "must-see" in Romania because of how well kept it is to this day.

That turned out to be a terrible decision as this was the most ill-organized tourist attraction I've ever seen in my life. I won't go into the details (you can read them in my Google review - screenshots attached), but I wanted to warn you about Bran castle removing negative reviews.

After returning to our hotel in the evening I wrote an honest review, and after a few hours I checked other reviews (sorted by newest), and found hundreds (and I'm not exaggerating here - literally hundreds) of negative reviews saying more or less the same thing I said as well.

Today, however, there are almost no negative reviews left from the past weekend (which is when we went and when I left the review). If you go to Bran castle on Google Maps and sort by newest reviews, you'll see only a few negative ones and hundreds of positive ones.

I don't know how they did this and I don't know if this is a common practice with other tourist attractions around the world, but they're somehow getting Google to remove negative reviews.

However this didn't sour our trip to Romania - it's a beautiful country, and even though many Redditors said that Bucharest is the most overrated city in Europe, we found it very interesting.

Brasov, Romania. Perhaps the bost beautiful city I’ve ever visited. It was absolutely amazing. Safe, cheap food and wonderful people! Will include a link to a video as well. Enjoy!

Romania - 3 Castles Day Tour from Bucharest (Peles, Bran, & Cantacuzino Castle)

Hi everyone! 🌺

We’re planning a trip to Romania and looking at the 3 Castles 1 Day Tour from Bucharest (Peles, Bran, and Cantacuzino/Wednesday castle).

The price seems fair compared to the train, but since we are on a budget, we have a few questions before we pull the trigger:

Is it worth it? For those who've done it, is there actually enough time to explore, or is it just a "get out, take a photo, get back on the bus" situation?

Peles Castle: We read online that you can walk around the gardens and exterior for free without buying a ticket for the interior. Is that true?

Bran Castle: How close is the actual village to the castle? We’d love to see the local area, but we want to know if the tour usually drops you close enough to walk around the village markets.

Cantacuzino (Wednesday Castle): The full ticket is about €17, which is a bit steep for us. Is there a "garden only" ticket option? We mostly want to see the filming locations and the view.

Would love to hear from anyone who has done this specific route or (even better) has traveled to these spots.

Thank you in advance 🙏

10 days visiting Romania - Questions

Hi all!

Me and my boyfriend are thinking of visiting Romania this August. We would like to do a mix of culture & nature and a country that is not extremely warm. So Romania seems like the perfect option for us!

Our current itinerary is:

  • Day 1&2: Bucharest (visiting palace of parliament, old town, different churches, etc)
  • Day 3: Sinaia
  • Day 5,6&7 Brasov
  • Day 8: Sighisoara
  • Day 9,10: Cluj-Napoca

We are planning to travel around by public transportation but are not sure if it's possible to visit nature with the train/ bus? What are your recommendations?

Do you have any advice for places to stay? All advice is welcome!! Thank you :)

Hey, I'll be driving from Bucharest - Suceava - Sighisoara - Brasov - Sinaia and back, taking about a 2 weeks. Are there any must-see or hidden gems that I should consider along the way? Thanks!
