Agent Concept: VECTOR

>"Need a helping hand? I've got four."

Callsign: Vector/Vectra (depending on in-game-callout-ability)

Name: Cassia Pantazis

Pronouns: She/Her

Role: Initiator

Nationality: Greek

Bio:

Hailing from Greece, brilliant scientist and intrepid explorer Vector uses her bionic toolkit to keep everything - and everyone - within arm's reach. Equipped with volatile radiant biotechnology, she infects enemies, lowering their defenses so they won't expect what comes next.

Passive: HELPING HANDS

PATHOGEN and FESTER are INSTANT and usable while holding a weapon. HOLD EQUIP to channel these abilities and delay their deployment ALT FIRE to cancel. Vector receives a movement slow while casting these abilities.

Signature Ability: PATHOGEN (2 charges, 200 creds, 60 sec cooldown)

HOLD EQUIP to equip a radianite orb. RELEASE to INSTANTLY launch. The orb bounces once, sticking to the next surface it encounters. After a windup, the orb explodes, briefly Revealing a single enemy in LOS. If another enemy is in LOS of the scanned enemy, then they are Revealed as well.

Self Movement Slow: -20%
Minimum Channel Duration: 0.8 secs
Projectile Behavior: Class 3 (M-Pulse, Incendiary, Meddle, Snakebite, etc.)
Activation Time: .8 sec
Active Time: 1.5 secs
Scan Type: Real-Time Silhouette Reveal
Scan Duration: 1.5 secs

Basic Ability 2: FESTER (1 charge, 300 creds)
HOLD EQUIP to prepare a long-range, piercing ray of radiance. RELEASE to charge up and fire. After a charging up, the pulse travels instantly, briefly Nearsighting anyone caught inside, and Decaying enemies. Decayed enemies will emit a persistent audio, making their presence known.

Self Movement Slow: -35%
Self-Knockback Distance: 1.5 meters
Minimum Channel Duration: 0.7 secs
Charge-Up Duration: 1 sec*
Cylinder Length: 50 meters
Cylinder Radius: 2 meters
Nearsight Vision Radius: 10 meters
Nearsight Duration: 0.65 secs
Decay Amount: 75 HP
Decay Duration: 8 secs (regain HP in last 4 seconds)
Fester Audio Importance: Standard

Basic Ability 2: DEADZONE (1 charge, 300 creds)

EQUIP a volatile radianite fragment. FIRE to throw the fragment. ALT FIRE to lob the fragment. After a short windup, the projectile detonates into smaller fragments, scattering pools of radiant matter onto the ground, Slowing and Suppressing all players caught in the burst.

Equip Duration: 0.8 secs
Projectile Behavior: Class 2 (Paint Shells, Mosh Pit, Poison Cloud, etc.)
Windup (initial projectile): 2.25 secs
Windup (cluster projectiles): 0.667 secs
Radius (initial projectile): 6 meters
Radii (cluster projectiles): 5.5 meters
Suppress & Slow Duration: 4.5 secs
Movement Slow: -10%

Ultimate Ability: CONTAINMENT (6 points)

EQUIP a boundary marking grenade. FIRE to throw the grenade. ALT FIRE to lob the grenade. Upon hitting the ground, the projectile creates a cylindrical zone that that blocks vision, muffles sound, and blocks bullets. The barrier's duration increases on each kill or assist.

Equip Duration: 0.8 secs
Projectile Behavior: Class 2 (Paint Shells, Mosh Pit, Poison Cloud, etc.)
Cast Time (throw): 0.4 secs
Windup (zone): 1.5 secs
Radius (zone): 8 meters
Height (zone): 3 meters
Minimum Duration (zone): 8 secs
Duration per Kill/Assist: +4 secs

Lore Involvement:

With Miks bringing new life and revitalizing the team, the VALORANT Protocol finally had a chance to relax and resume research into radivores and Project Landfall, spurred by Killjoy, Deadlock, and Gekko. Cassia Pantazis joins the VALORANT Protocol as a brilliant mind who offers unique help through her (admittedly self-funded) research into infusing nanotechnology with biologically active radiant matter. Her contributions could help with the understanding of radiance (reversing Sage's crystallization), radivores (Gekko's creatures, Veto's mutation, Deadlock's interaction with the radivore bear, etc.), and more.

Extra Information:

  • The goal for Vector is that playing her should feel like a Duelist (insta-popping abilities), while performing like an Initiator (info, displacement, etc.). Her design is intended to fill the Controller-Initiator niche.
  • Vector is meant to imply "an organism that transmits disease", denoting her kit's focus on transferring debuffs to/through enemies.
  • "Vectra" is just the alternate name for uniqueness/ease of pronunciation as an in-game callout.
  • When inactive, Vector's mechanical arms fold backward into the kit on her back, and they stay relatively close to her viewmodel when casting abilities, keeping things fair for both herself and the enemies.
  • None of Vector's abilities can be shot at, so the main drawback to her kit is that her abilities are reliant on enemy positioning, paired with her overall lack of utility and expensive kit. Additionally, while having abilities without gun pullout is powerful, she is heavily punished for trying to move while casting abilities, and with snipers like the Operator, she's at a major disadvantage (can't scope in).
  • PATHOGEN essentially acts like a longer-lasting Recon Dart (Sova). If enemies aren't careful, it can compound into long-lasting scan, but otherwise is relatively ineffective compared to other info-gathering Initiator utility.
  • FESTER is like a single Hunter's Fury (Sova) shot. In order to make things a little more interesting, the ability itself does very little to disrupt the enemy, but reveals their location through sound.
  • DEADZONE behaves exactly like Paintshells (Raze), with a debuffing factor rather than a displacing one.
  • CONTAINMENT offers a unique Initiator ultimate in the sense that it is a fast-charging, versatile ultimate that offers the same benefits as Cosmic Divide (Astra). It can be used as both an offensive (isolating fights) or defensive (muffling audio cues and/or blocking gunfire), but doesn't have as much of a lasting impact if not utilized to the fullest.
  • CONTAINMENT has a ceiling! This makes it different from Cyber Cage (Cypher), while also justifying the Deafening effect.
  • Veto can counter CONTAINMENT before it lands, with Interceptor.

I dunno if there was a problem with the way i used boombot but did they every sucked this badly?

these are 2 clips of the same game. There are other instances where the boombot did not clear shit but i did not die. And yes I am bronze

I don't like this

"competitive"^ match"

Im a solo que guy 95% of the time.

why do I get lobbies like these?

I used to remember couple years ago when u que, the rank differential could only be max 1 whole rank (so if I am asc 1 the lowest rank I get ques with is dia1 and highest is also imm 1)

now current system is a shitshow.

agent selection: 3 of the teammates instantly makes loud monkey sounds (idk why) so I muted them, then I instalocked viper, and my other 4 teammates all hovered Reyna until 0 secs left and the game auto picked the agents for them.

when the game begins I let them know that I muted them, and when brim heard this ge just started stalking me in-game, saying im trolling, he literally kept texting me every rousn saying unmute me we gotta win, the enemy team is so strong etc, like wtf, they said they wanted to dodge (but they didnt) and hovered 4 man Reyna now this.

I just wanna chill and play with mature and normal people like wtf is this sh't ?

Reyna and Fenix didn't know wtf they were the entire game, 2 walking orbs.

if u read this gg, I usually don't vent publicly but here I am.

Why do pros use gaia's vengeance vandal a lot?

I know the appeal of recon phantom but not much on gaia's. Unlike stuff in ranked where they use pretty or cool stuff (im relatively new to the game)

Veto Is Weak

So like veto is in a rough spot. He’s good if you know how to use him, but he just is pretty much the worst sentinel currently. Ngl imo deadlock outshines him. Currently all sentinels but chamber are pretty bad rn with the renowned chamber meta (I see a chamber like every game) so I think he needs some buffs. What do u think he could use?

How am I supposed to win against these "golds"?

17-0 in 5 rounds

22-3 in 8 rounds

I come from a 15-13 overtime, finally winning to get 13 RR (which is insane but whatever)

Just to be met by this, -22 RR

But yeah let's just use the excuse that they are having a good day! Nothing wrong with going 17-0 in 5 rounds!!!

https://preview.redd.it/abwilsyjgmtg1.png?width=1757&format=png&auto=webp&s=4fbecd616053549a2a0b2d634a463e7edd5a4d0b

Gold 2 in a Platinum lobby btw

https://preview.redd.it/2yecwwzbhmtg1.png?width=1013&format=png&auto=webp&s=189ddd2542b12c3cb6839fca07defdac5a43eb37

Nearly in every single one of my rankeds there's a gold just dropping 15 kills in just the first half or just dropping 28+ kills

If I win, +14 RR because they are just golds, if I lose -23 RR because they are lower elo despite playing better than diamonds

Next match, 26/8 neon

https://preview.redd.it/w3olnttckmtg1.png?width=1805&format=png&auto=webp&s=5d8f70786aa1ff104a2166cdea31d86e52dbb10c

Lost 28 RR. I got 13rr from a win btw let that sink in

With the afk, these two losses and 1 win, I am now in Plat 2 18 RR. I lost 72 RR. How do I climb exactly?

Why do I have to go against people that belong to a higher rank in plat with their 30-50% hs with vandal? I don't even get a chance because I get insta one tapped or Neon comes at me running with a shotgun or sliding and headshotting (tactical shooter ig)

And if I win the rewards are so shit it's not even worth it?

Imagine someone coming home from their 9 to 5, finally has time to play ranked and is met with this, I feel sorry if this happens to you and you are employed

Asking Consistent Immortal or Radiant Level Players: Do yall Primmie crouch tap between strafes often or just stick to normal A n D strafes no crouch taps?

I know that many do crouch peeking. But Primmie will often do A n D strafes with a lot of crouch tapping in between every strafe.

I want to know if any consistent immortal/radiant players even bother doing this or do most of yall just do the typical A D strafes. Only crouching for a spray commitment or crouch peeking.

If yall do both, what scenarios such as amount of enemies or distance do you do the Primmie method vs normal strafing

Im getting iron 3 teammates when im gold 2

I deranked from gold 3 cause i had a bad game. Then I get teammates around my rank and I get team mvp loss, and the game right after I get 2 iron 3 teammates and a gold 1 and silver 1, where i performed mid due to the unpredictability of low rank + tilting at my teammates (to myself not in vc)

How come its like the game doesnt want me to rank up? I dropped from plat and ever since ive been losing despite performing really well in like 80% of my games. I also take breaks when im on a losing streak but come back the next day/days just to lose more.

Not asking for advice or anything was just feeling nice this week and actually playing some decent gameplay. I usually play initiators skye gekko but just got tired so just decided to play duelist to see if I can get more impact. Got 4+ first bloods in all these games so hopefully can start winning more.

Best Agents for Flanking

I am a Sage main and I really enjoy flanking but my friends have told me I shouldn’t play Sage if I want to flank because I need to be supporting my team. Are there any characters you recommend that support a flank play-style?

Wrist VS Arm aimers?

I’m new to valorant trying to dial in my aim and I see lots of people all over the place in terms of sens. and aiming style, I tend to wrist aim and trying some of the recommended sens. Like 240eDpi seems unplayable without extending your arm. Are there many wrist aimers like myself or is that just a thing of the past and I should learn to aim with my arm, and if you are a wrist gamer what is your sens?

Trying to find the most Phantom-sounding Vandal skin...

Hey all, in trying to find the right gun for me, I've found that while I prefer shooting the Vandal, I vastly prefer hearing the Phantom. Which Vandal skins, in your opinion, sound the most like the Phantom? I've been trying a few out with no real luck.

How to get out of low elo (From someone who solo queues)

If you are Iron - Silver, I suggest you listen to this.

1. Stop filling

I promise you that team comp does not matter in this elo at all. There are a lot of low elo players who play a wide variety of agents that they have little knowledge of. Stop doing this. You should ideally main 2 agents maximum that you like and are comfortable with.

2. Stop Playing too little or too many games a day

Many low elo players either play 2 games a day or 10+ games a day. Stop doing this. You ideally want you play 3 games minimum to 6 games maximum a day. Playing way too many games a day with make you susceptible to tilt queuing and you won't rank up significantly if you play too little games a day.

3. Improve your mechanics

I promise you that nothing else matters in low elo besides mechanics. The best way to improve your mechanics is to go in the range and try to hit bots on medium mode while counter strafing or play deathmatch and unbind your crouch button. Also if you are going to play deathmatch, use guns like the sheriff and guardian since they incentivize first shot accuracy and crosshair placement.

4. Have good coms

You don't even have to IGL. Telling your teammates where the enemies are, what utility they used and where, as well as how much damage you dealt to them will win you a lot more rounds than you think.

Anyways, These are the tips that got me out of low elo, if they worked for me they could work for you as well.
