Advice on my options with this car loan!

Hey everyone, I need a reality check on my car situation.

About 9 months ago, I picked up a used 2024 Mazda CX-90. At the time, the numbers seemed okay, but now I’m wondering if I’m digging a hole. According to my contract (image.png), I financed $36k at 7.99% for 72 months. My monthly is $633.

The car is great, but I’m worried about the depreciation. I probably owe around $32k-$33k, but trade-in values for these seem to be dropping fast. I feel like I'm already "underwater" (owing more than the car is worth).

My questions for the experts:

• Was this a bad move? 7.99% for 6 years feels long, especially for a used car.

• How do I get out? I don't have $5k-$8k in cash to cover the gap if I sell it today.

• What are my options? Should I try to refinance for a shorter term, or just start throwing extra money at the principal to catch up to the value? Or do I just drive it until the wheels fall off and hope for the best?

Any advice from someone who’s managed to get out from under a car loan would be huge. Thanks!

should I worry about this wheel well damage?

hey guys, im in the shopping stage for a car and specifically looking for a mazda. i am in contact with a sales guy from enterprise and looking to see this car hopefully by this weekend. As I was looking back at the photos i noticed that the fender liner looks a bit scrunched up or has some damage, and was wondering for any information or advice on this. like specifically is this anything major or could be anything major in the future? or is this just cosmetic damage?

thanks guys

2010 ford fusion hybrid, 130k miles worth it?

Hi everybody, I’m in the market for a used car trying to get something reliable but in the cheaper side. I owned a 2014 fusion that a friend gave me for the past 4 years, got it to 250k miles before an accident took it out, and I’m now interested in a 2010 fusion hybrid with about 130k miles and a $5800 OTD price tag. If inspection comes back good would this be a good buy? Thanks.

1995 Ford E150 260k mileage, converted camper for $4500

https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/d/san-diego-ford-econoline-150-high-roof/7931942282.html

Seller may be willing to come down to $4500. Am having a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection tomorrow morning. What should I look out for? If it is mechanically okay would this be a wise purchase despite how high mileage it is?

I would not be living in this but using it to go on intermittent trips around the west coast where I live. Would this handle steep mountain roads and desert terrain? Would it be smart to take it on 600-700 mile trips?

Much appreciate any info or advice.

Have never owned a Volvo before. Been looking out for a late 80’s/early 90’s 240 or 740 model but came across this 1989 760 listed on marketplace. From the photos it looks great cosmetically minus a little wear and tear on the seats.

Listing mentions a couple problems —

“In good shape. 1 owner. Starts but you have to spray starter fluid into the intake first. Might be the fuel pump. Runs good otherwise though. AC and heat work but the HVAC blend door actuator gets stuck on heat sometimes.”

105,313 miles on it. Listed for $2,500. Good buy or not?

Which car would you pick to get your prepurchase inspection

- 2019 Buick Encore Preferred: Fancier, bells and whistles. About 110k miles. 2 owner history, prior re-po. Dealership had to make a few repairs. Very quiet noise I can’t pinpoint in the test drive.
Cash price pre fees is $9650

-2017 Toyota Yaris Hatchback: Pretty much everything I want in the car, but no fancy new bells and whistles like power seats or big touch screen. About 120k miles. 4 owner history, seems to have been used as a dealership’s car for 3 years prior to being put up for sale. Prior cosmetic accident with minimal damage that’s been repaired. This car feels very comfortable and familiar to me because I’ve always driven Toyota. I didn’t notice anything suspicious in the test.
Cash price pre fees is $9650.

-2011 Toyota Rav4: Everything I need, no bells and whistles, about 150k miles light cosmetic damage from prior accident and from age. Would need to paint the hub caps. Get layout, very outdoorsy car. I felt the most familiar driving this from the others, but it is only 2 years younger than the Toyota I drive now (but there’s a 100,000 miles difference). I didn’t notice anything suspicious in the test, maybe a slight vibration around and above 60 but nothing that I haven’t felt in other cars.
Cash Price is $6990

New Car Advice

I’m 19 M heading into my first year of college, I’m blessed to have parents that are willing to pay for my first real car, My budget is $10,000 for a down payment (or for a total price) I have no reservations about a used car and honestly I’d prefer that. I want something sport-y and fitting for a guy my age I guess. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone hope this post finds you well.

I’m buying a used 2021 Akera Mazda CX-5 in Victoria. I’ve put down a deposit and negotiated an agreed price they had the Mazda was up for 35k I negotiated it down to 32.5k including my trade in.The sales person disclosed that there was a small crack/chip on the windscreen upon inspection. Everything else to do with exterior and interior was In good condition. This is my first time buying from a dealer so I was quite overwhelmed as you know they are trying to sell the car and I was being given so much information i felt bombarded. I didn’t push on the chip/crack. Because they said it might or might not pass the road worthy check. But I’m regretting not pushing on it because it could pass the road worthy as it’s small but noticeable but might be just enough to pass it. But if it does pass I still don’t feel comfortable receiving the vehicle with the crack/chip. I would like it to be repaired or replaced which would be unlikely. But I just want to be informed because I’ve got myself in a bit of a pickle as I should have mentioned it when I was there for the inspection. I know if it’s passes the road worthy check. The crack/chip can be a massive issue for me in the future and be very costly to replace. I was wondering if you guys could help me become more informed on what my options could be and what would be reasonable. I know if it’s passes the dealerships main argument would be it passed and it’s a used car but I really don’t want the car to have the crack still upon completing the sale. The car is awaiting mechanical inspection first. I only viewed the car yesterday and put down the deposit yesterday but I’m wanting to reach out Monday. I wanted advice first and to be more informed as I’ve never bought a used vehicle from a dealership before.

I just bought an SUV to cater to our expanding family. I have a 2015 Dodge Dart GT which I had bought new and it is about time to part ways from it. How much do you think I should be able to sell it for? It has about 145k miles on it, comes with Garmin navigation, although it doesn’t update anymore, it has premium sound system and a sunroof. Heated seats, remote start, 2 key fobs. All the systems work fine. It does have a few minor scratches on one door and a bit of a scratch on front bumper. Other than that the car runs fine.

Any tips on how to sell it?
