How risky is this? 1995 Ford E150 converted camper 260k mileage for $4500

Seller may be willing to come down to $4500. Am having a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection tomorrow morning. What should I look out for? If it is mechanically okay would this be a reasonable purchase despite how high mileage it is?

4 owners total according to the car fax. Always been in CA. No reported accidents. Owner not sure if transmission or engine has been replaced/rebuilt. Will the mechanic pre-inspection be able to tell?

This owner has had it for 6 years, another owner had for about 20 years it looks like.

I would not be living in this but using it to go on intermittent trips around the west coast where I live. Would this handle steep mountain roads and desert terrain? Would it be okay to take it on 600-700 mile trips?

Much appreciate any info or advice.
