SCAMMER ON CAMPUS

Cooper Matsui , a student in the university of Oregon, is a scammer . If you know the guy , know This , he is an absolute loser. He asked me to illustrate Over 650 cards, but didnt pay the amount owed. Hes now also using my art , without consent or payment made , for his financial benefit . He should be ashamed of taking advantage of people that actually work for their money . His Instagram was public but after i sent him a message there demanding the money he owes , he privated it . Dude is an absolute clown, so keep that in mind if you interact with him . Also heres the proof that hes using my art and that he didnt pay for it

Comic and Cartoon Studies vs Games Studies

I’m planning on transferring to UO for Media Studies and I would have to pick a minor. Right now I’m torn between comic and cartoon studies and game studies. So I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with either or both and would have any insight to share about them. One of my friends who has taken some game classes and the intro to comics class and he said the games classes he took weren’t that good but that he liked the comic class. But I wanted to see if anyone else has anything to share

Acceptance Question!

Hello, I am currently in HS but EXTREMELY interested in UO, its basically the “dream college” for atleast my 4 yrs before I transfer to a primarily law school. Anyways my gpa is a 3.5 UW & W, And I am in programs like speech and debate, and Avid. Would I have a good chance of getting into UofO when I apply? Also id appreciate some to comment what their HS gpas were so I get a good idea of what it takes. Thanks! EDIT: I forgot to mention im taking 3 AP classes soon and dont get lower grades than a B or so!

Two times now over the last couple of months someone I don’t know is using a green laser pointer to point at me and it’s really freaking me out.

This has happened on two separate occasions now, spaced out by months, the second time happening today. What happens is I look down and someone is using a bright green laser pointer to point at me and my general area. The moment I look down and start reacting to it it’s gone, and when I try to look around I can’t see who’s doing it.

This isn’t a prank from a friend or anything. It’s happened twice now during the day. Honestly, I’m starting to get freaked out. I know just reading this it could probably be brushed off as me misinterpreting a coincidence or an accident, but I promise you, that’s not what it is. It’s the same green laser pointer circling me and on me by someone I can’t see and don’t know.

I want to know if anyone has any idea of what’s going on, maybe some context.

Hi all! posting this again as I am really desperate!

I need to relet my room at the 515 for the summer or sooner! I am already moved out so you can move in whenever, and I have already paid rent for the month of May. Rent is 1184 monthly, and I am willing to contribute a portion monthly (we can discuss!)

It is in a very nice area, and the building itself is clean. The room is a private room within a 3bed/3bath unit, and the bathroom is within the room.

Let me know if you're interested or have any questions!

Hello y'all! My name is Alex and I'm an upcoming PhD student at UO, I study communication, in particular music, consumption practices, and stuff like that.

I'm looking for a place to move close to campus but not necessarily the closest, I plan to use public transportation and won't have a car!

I'd like to ask for advice on the neighborhoods, seeks apartments for rent, and if you're looking for a roommate I'd be willing to hear that too!

I'm 25, male, no pets, clean and relatively quiet, happy to give more information too. I would like to move in around the 1st of August, thank you.

Best areas to live as a grad student?

Hi y'all! I'm an incoming PhD Student (Fall 2026) and was wondering where grad students who want to stay near campus end up living. I've heard from a few people that East Campus is in high demand, but are there other neighborhoods that grad students tend to congregate in?

I don't have a car yet, so I'd prefer to have within a 30-minute commute -- be it through walking, biking, or public transit -- until I get one.

Hi! I am an incoming freshman at UofO, coming from out of state. Oregon is very expensive out of state, and so i was very happy when i received the summit scholarship, which awarded me $12,500 a year, and is making paying for Oregon much easier!
Unfortunately second semester senior year has been incredibly rough, and my grades have dropped significantly. I am currently in all AP classes (4 classes this semester), and have a 4.245. At the end of this year I will end with a C+, B, F, and a B.
I am incredibly worried that my scholarship will be taken away due to this, and that the admissions team will get my final transcripts and rescind the summit scholarship.
Can anyone help me figure out if this would happen??

Easier class recommendations?

I’m a marine biology major who’s been doing at least 18 credits for the last 6 terms. I’m burnt out. There are a couple of classes I need to take next term, but it’s not enough to give me 12 credits to be considered full time.

Does anyone know of any easy classes that don’t give a ton of homework, and whose tests are a little bit more chill?

I can’t keep doing 60 pages of readings, 3 hours of videos and 2 canvas quizzes every day, I need a break. Any help is deeply appreciated.

I honestly wish I had seen reviews like this before using them.

As a college student during move-out week, you’re already stressed and trying to figure everything out quickly, and this company completely took advantage of that. They make the pricing sound reasonable at first, but once they already have your stuff, random “extra item” charges suddenly start showing up and the total becomes WAY higher than what you originally paid.

The most ridiculous one was getting charged $140 to store a poster tube. Literally a poster tube with some cheap posters inside. When we complained and asked if they could just throw it away instead, they said the disposal fee would ALSO be $140. That’s insane.

They were also super misleading about pickup. They advertise “door to door” service, so we specifically asked if they were allowed to come up into dorm rooms, and they told us yes. Then on move-out day they suddenly couldn’t come upstairs at all, so we ended up carrying everything ourselves anyway in the middle of move-out chaos. If we had known that from the beginning, we never would’ve used them.

Customer service was also exhausting to deal with. It took so much repeated messaging just to get actual answers, and even then a lot of the information ended up being wrong. At one point I literally asked them, “Is this AI?” because the responses felt so weird and unhelpful.

Overall the whole thing felt really predatory toward college students who are stressed, busy, and just trying to store their stuff for the summer. Please be careful before using this company because the final price can end up being WAY more than what they make it seem like upfront.

business advice!!

hi i’m currently a freshman at uo and i desperately need advice on my major. Currently I’m on track for a BA and after taking one journalism class I think I want to change my major. In high school I did four years of business classes, so I know a handful of information and came in this year previously educated. When I took my first BA101 class in fall term my love for business slowly turned into a chore. I tried gaslighting myself that I still found interest in continuing, but felt pulled towards journalism because of the creativity. I’m someone who works hands on in groups and very good with socializing and communications and love writing. I want to succeed in something I enjoy but feel scared because of the deteriorating field of journalism arts. I need help, I want to have good opportunities but find a balance in expressing myself through my work. SOJC students help me find what’s best, but business students be blunt with me with not continuing a BA💔☹️

Hello everyone, I'm looking for off-campus housing.

I'm thinking of studio apartments, but on the cheaper side

Right now, I have:

  1. Ferry Street Flats
  2. 11th and Ferry Lofts
  3. Union on Broadway
  4. Amazon Corner

I would love to hear from anybody who has lived / has heard about these places. Any recommendations about other places not on the list would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
