does anyone regret coming here?
Like deep regret, and why, and if you were to do something else, what would it be?

Hi just wanted to ask what yall think on here!
I’m lower income so I should be getting need based aid and NMS at usc! I also got aid at UT. I got in for civil engineering at usc and architectural engineering at UT austin
Cost aside, what would yall rec?
Info: I’m a Texas resident, want a good balance between social and school life ( not rlly a partier tho I just want free time 💀), more introverted female, and I’m extremely worried about campus safety. I heard USC campus is not great bc of the area but is it really THAT bad?
I feel like civil is safer (job wise) but lmk what yall think! Is civil at USC better than architectural engineering at ut?
UT has a better engineering school, but it’s an extremely competitive environment for stuff like outside experience. Additionally Austin and LA are both pretty different and I feel like the offer very different experiences. I probably am going to stay in Texas after undergrad so UT may help with connections but I feel like USC is still a strong school. Idk what to choose at all and I feel like both schools have very good but different opportunities.
fml 🥀
Does anybody have experience on how competitive is the Norman Topping Scholarship really, and what kind of applicants usually stand out the most during the selection process
I’m currently a transfer applicant
A week before graduation!
Just wanted to run a HM in LA with some interesting setting.
My HM pace is something around 2:10-2:20hr but we can take easy/more serious accordingly, just want to do something fun in a group before goodbye :)
My parent made 20k last year and it’s been fluctuate around 20-30k for the last 6 years. My brother got a high paying job and he bought a home in 2025 for ~500k and he let me and my parent live together. He does not support me for anything else, only my parent.
Will I be qualified for the full tuition cover 80k or less with typical asset ? Since my parent made only 20k and this year but that 500k housing… I am worried that I will not received anything
Hey y’all me and my son are visiting USC and was hoping for some recommendations near the USC hotel for good eats. Thanks!
Also posted this on the uva subreddit so I REALLY want the usc perspective
east coast (oos for both), pre-med/architecture major, want a school with diverse)
USC:
3k/yr, could just be personal expenses (worried about fin aid reducing after 1st year)
Love LA (at least my perception of LA) is it hard to get around without a car?
Has a B.arch, but I got in to Dornsife (is it hard to double major/change schools?)
Opportunity to get into creative writing/publishing
Proximity to the ocean (for surfing)
More diverse but not a huge black student population
Never visited (not sure about the student body’s vibe, at UVA everyone was really close
Really far from the east coast
UVA:
12k/yr (also worried about fin aid after the 1st year)
Closer to home
Visited on the 18th
Got in for College of Arts and Sciences
Everyone was soooo nice and welcoming
Would want to apply for brown college
Doesn’t have as much diversity but I didn’t feel isolated
Doesn’t have a B.arch (not sure if I vibe with the A-school)
Charlottesville feels a bit too quiet
College town-y (but that’s starting to feel like a good thing)
Hi all! I got into USC, but I was wondering if any black/POC (especially black) students could specifically chime in about their experience at USC. I know that no school is perfect, but I’m hoping for a more diverse and inclusive college experience. Thanks all!
Hello!
To anyone who has gotten off campus housing for grad students, where did you find roommates and your place? I’m trying to find something for the next school year for around $1000 and in the fryft zone but everything seems scammy, a 2 month sublease, or way too expensive. please help!!
Could anyone recommend a good property to live in on Ellendale or a place around that area? Have heard good things but am looking for something preferably under fifteen hundo. Also, where did u guys find a roommate that you clicked with? Don't try to sell me your room please. Thanks!
Did anyone graduate (or currently studying) Annenberg COM Management program! Isn’t it too vague, broad? What do you work or where? Are you satisfied? Do you think it’s a good program? ( those who are in or completed already)!
Also, if I’m already accepted to Annenberg, can I change the school prior starting the semester (summer term), or at least change the major?
I’d greatly appreciate any feedback you have 🥹❤️🙏
i’m graduating, but i think im staying in LA for another year, or at least till the end of this year. i like living in the usc area and im also trying to save a bit of money before i leave. most of my friends aren’t staying in LA or already found housing so my options are limited.
i have been considering those co-living spaces where its private rooms with bathrooms and a shared common space. does anyone have any experience with those and could give me advice on if its worth saving the few hundred dollars? i get scared of new roommates since ive had bad ones in the past (and im sad to part with my current, really great roommate). especially living with so many new people. if recommended, could you also tell me what housing companies to look for? like Moo housing, Mosaic, etc.
Hi Everyone!
I’m so happy to be joining the Trojan Family this fall as a graduate student. With all the changes to federal loans, I’m trying to figure out the best lender to take out private loans from. For those of you who took out student loans with USC Credit Union, could you please tell me about your experience and if you would recommend it?
Thank you! ☺️❤️💛✌🏽
Hi Trojans,
I was recently accepted to USC and I’m using the Post-9/11 GI Bill. I’ve already completed more than enough credits at my current university, but because of USC’s residency requirement, it looks like I’d still need close to 2 years there - which my GI Bill likely won’t fully cover.
I know Yellow Ribbon helps, but only while GI Bill funding is active, so once my benefits run out it won’t really solve the issue.
I’m actively trying to get approved for VR&E, which would fix this, but I won’t know in time. USC will have already started and I’d need to move before I even find out if I’m approved.
I also think I’m too late for most scholarships - does anyone know of any workarounds or options? I really want to make this work.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or found a way around this (reducing units, VR&E timing, etc.)?
Would really appreciate any advice. Thank you!
Any suggestions where's a good place to store my daughter's car over the summer? A garage in a safe area is probably the most desirable. No one will be monitoring the car I am weary about an outdoor parking area near the school.
I just received my acceptance for Fall 2026, way earlier than the expected May 31st! I’ve dreamt about going to USC since I was a kid, and now get to go there as a 36 year old veteran who dropped out of UCB 16 years ago with a 1.4 GPA. I’M SO EXCITED TO FINALLY SAY I’LL BE A TROJAN!!! FIGHT ON!! ✌🏻
Edit: Letter of Acceptance
I need two more 400 level math electives to take. My options are 410 with Czenky, 430 with Geske, 447 with Reyes Souto, or 467 with Mancera. Has anyone had experience with any of these classes or professors?
