How’s my fall schedule??

Guys, I’m kind of nervous for my first semester at TU. For some reason my advisor got me scheduled for 19 credit hours first semester. I am a double major so that’s probably why?! But nevertheless seems kind of excessive to me

But how are my classes? Any professors I should be aware of? I’d be super grateful for any insights to my current schedule 🙏🙏 I’m not particularly good at math, but it’s required for my degree and I heard Michael Joyce was the only good professor (he doesn’t teach long calculus).

Uncertain about the party scene

Hi everyone, I’m finishing my junior year and I’ve been spending a lot of time shopping for colleges. Tulane seems like a good school for biochemistry (my intended major) and research, but I feel a bit nervous about the party culture. I’ve never been to nola, and I want to compare Tulane to my closest prestige school, WashU.

Being brutally honest, parties (at least in high school) really stress me out. I’m an introvert. I want to join a frat in college, but the stuff I’ve heard about wild mardi gras parties and such doesn’t suit me.

So I just have a few questions: is partying really as intense as people online say it is? Do a lot of people skip parties to stay in their dorms? (it seems like a rigorous school after all) Will I be left behind socially if I don’t go to these reportedly-crazy parties?

Thank you all for taking the time to read this :)

Missed Connection WTUL Halloween O.o

Back in October I substituted for the normal hip hop DJ at wtul.. when I got done, I was waiting on an Uber, and was approached by a young man and a woman. They were obviously on their way back from a party.

Well, they guy starts telling me that I am his friends type, and she just stands there doing heart fingers, so I wasn't sure what was going on. It was 2 in the morning, so...

Well, I feel like I missed an opportunity to connect, so, hope thai finds you. The WTUL DJ with the bald head and I was wearing a white hoodie with headphones around my neck. You were a blind woman with glasses and your friend was a brown haired dude, that's all I remember.

Financial aid

Does anybody know the chances of getting your Financial aid package increased? I am about 13-16k off from what we need to be able to go there. We emailed them but we were wondering if it is better to go in person

Grad Photos

Y'all I need some spots with specific locations for graduate photos on or around Tulane's campus. I have an online MSW client taking photos from about 2 hours away. We are both unfamiliar with the campus! TIA!

Making friends as a Transfer?

Hello! Im a transfer for Fall 26 and I'm anxious about making friends. My first year at my old college I made absolutely no friends, if you don't count my bf. I'm also in a unique situation. I finished high school a year early. So while this will be my 2nd year of college, it should be my first year as I'm technically a High school Senior right now.

I'm not super shy, just anxious to speak! Especially as a Transfer, how hard is it to make friends at Tulane?

I'm pretty sure I'm living on campus but not in a Freshmen dorm, and I think Transfer move-in is later then Freshman move-in. I also don't do sports, but I'm thinking of rushing a sorority.

Any tips? I've followed as much people as I can on Insta, but I haven't posted on any Tulane 2030 Instagrams.

Thank you

Just got accepted as a transfer for fall. Wondering if there is any must do's and if it will be hard to integrate into the community (friends wise and club wise).

When we toured Tulane, our guide told us that she had changed majors three times. Is it really as simple as just deciding you’d like to take a different course of study? Even if your new major is in a different school within the university? (Talking about switching to the business school in particular)

I’m currently a freshman at Fordham studying finance. I applied and got into Tulane as a transfer, and I’m trying to figure out if it would actually be worth it.

My main priorities are:
- Strong business school and finance program
- Solid internship, job opportunities, and placements
- Better campus life and school spirit
- A stronger social scene and preferably warmer weather

I’m a born and raised New Yorker. I commute to Fordham, and the campus can feel quiet. I only live about 20 minutes away from campus, so I’m still involved in the party/social scene, but during the winters, social life feels almost nonexistent. I can deal with NYC winters, but they make campus and going out feel miserable. If I stay at Fordham, I would most likely get off-campus housing next year, so that might improve the experience. I also know Fordham has the NYC advantage for finance opportunities.

Tulane appeals to me because of the warmer weather, stronger school spirit, better social scene, more traditional college experience, and respected business school. I’m wondering whether the business/career upside at Tulane is enough to justify transferring from Fordham, or if I’d mainly be transferring for lifestyle reasons.

- Is Tulane a clear upgrade, downgrade, or lateral move for business/finance?
- How strong is Tulane Freeman for finance, internships, and placements?
- Is it worth giving up NYC’s proximity?
- Is transferring worth it if my main complaints are really just social life, weather, and school spirit?

I’m trying to make a practical decision, not just chase a different social scene. Any honest advice would help.
