What path do you recommend for learning Back Fulls?

Hey guys,

I'm aiming to learn a back full this summer. I've seen a few different progressions to learn it though-

  • learn cart full first, then take it to standing
  • learn btwist first, then make it 2-legged and vertical
  • just do a 360 and keep inverting it until its a full
  • just do a backflip and keep 360ing it until its a full

Any other paths? Any thoughts on which is best, or which ones you took?

Thanks,

Aengus

Help! Gainer isn’t as inverted as I want

First one i tried lowering my head back more.
Second one i tried spotting the ground before taking off.
Last one I really focused on driving my hips.

I want my gainer to come over my head and less over the side. Any help is appreciated

I need desperate help with my backflip

So recently I’ve been getting into tricking and u wanna learn how to backflip really bad. I have a good physique and I know that I have the capability for it. The only problem is that I for the life of my do not know how to rotate during my backflip.

I’ve watched over 50 videos that have all said the exact same thing. I genuinely do not know how at all I’m supposed to flip backwards. I just don’t know how to rotate at all. I try throwing my body back, that doesn’t work. I try tucking really good, that also doesn’t work. I try jumping higher, committing more and nothing is helping me rotate.

I have already gotten over my fear of going backwards and I’m more fustrated than anything because I’m so confused how I’m supposed to rotate my entire body. I’m going to post a video of what I think is my *best* attempt so maybe someone can explain to me like I’m five what I’m doing wrong.

Longest handstand attempt

So about 3 weeks ago I started to get into tricking thanks to a friend, and I just wanted to test my handstand ability for things like back handsprings and front handsprings. This is my longest attempt so far, but I just wanted to see if there’s anything I can do to improve it a bit? Or any advice to keep it for longer?

What should my next progression be? The fear factor is my biggest issue.

As shown in the video I taught myself to kinda do a backflip on a mattress and spring floor. Advice is appreciated!

I'm trying to learn a backflip at the moment as my first trick. Would you say that a backflip is easier or harder than most people assume? Is a normal backflip considered easier than a wallflip? And how long did it take u to get it?

Thank you so much!

After like a million tries a landed a back flip with a twist. Scary but I persevered so next I might go for a cork.

I’m a black belt in taekwondo with 7+ years of experience. For the longest time, I have wanted to cross over into Martial arts tricking or Wushu. However, those sports are just so inaccessible and there a major lack of gyms / schools. The places that are in my area also only seem to offer kids classes too. It seems almost impossible to access tricking as an adult unless you’re self taught - which, even as an experienced taekwondo practitioner, I don’t trust myself to do. I know I could never have taught myself all those taekwondo kicks, let alone something even more acrobatic like tricking.

So I was wondering, how did you guys get into the sport. Are you self taught, or did you start at a local gym? Is there a steep learning curve involved when starting as an adult? I would love to learn but unfortunately don’t know how

Edit: would also be great if someone could recommend me a starting point to go of off! I’m already proficient in hook kicks, spinning kicks, jumping kicks, etc.
