Why does Adam kiss Ianto?

Random question that just came to me when rewatching Adam.
Whilst Adam is giving Ianto fake memories, he kisses him??? I can’t think of why? It could be to try and create more trust or it could be a throwaway moment by the writers?

I just wonder if there’s a real answer to it as I couldn’t find one myself.

i left Ianto til last because i know he’s such a fan-favourite, and i Love Suzie so much too 💜
