Thorogood vs Red Wing

Start out with I’m loving both boots and ima 300lbs man with big ankles. I got the red wings first I’ve had them for about 3 weeks and I’d say there half way broken in and wearable all day now, but still have some time to go. So in come the thorogoods so I can switch back and forth between them just to have a different brand cus I’m also interested in getting the beckmans soon. But long story short the red wings are a pain to put one because of the high gusset. Thorogoods are a breeze! And they do feel broken in out the box specially coming from not broken in redwings. I love both boots and will be wearing both but love the ease of install of the thorogoods might see if I can have a cobbler modify my red wings I don’t care about water protection I work indoors on concrete.

Pull on Wellington

I love my pull on Wellington (814-4208) but the color is different and it drives me crazy. I wear these as off work boots so it's taking longer for the colors to even out and match, if they ever will. I've had them since early March and wanted to share my frustration and get free, useless internet points. 😂🤘🥾🥾 The boots are great if you like Thorogoods, some people don't and that's just too bad.

Vibram 528 Soft Lug, re welted, re shanked.

A friend of mine brought me his new Thorogoods for some upgrades. These received the Vibram 528 Roccia, which looks like the hard as a rock 100 Montagna, but are made of Newflex, a much softer material that wedge soles are also made out of. They also received new Barbour split reverse leather storm welts, and steel shanks.
