Testing new gear

This is a new eraser feature I haven’t tried. Am I the first one here to test Thermal Master P4?  lol

Picked up the Lumi H35R glad I found this group.

Glad I found this group. I got really into thermal after getting a Topdon TCTC001 Duo. I find it great for indoor stuff being wide angle and fixed focus. Seeing hot water run into the sink is like watching molten lava. I decided I wanted a monocular with higher resolution for using outdoors etc. I spent hours researching monoculars and read lots of reviews. Unfortunately, every review or post I found was for or by hunters. Nothing against hunters but I was looking for other uses. I do not hunt at all. I'm just an amateur photographer and now thermal enthusiast. I enjoy exploring wildlife and exploring what thermal devices can do. I decided to go with the Nocpix Lumi H35R and am very impressed with the clarity, size, weight, features etc. Surprised how well this works as night vision especial in white hot mode. I'll admit i get a little FOMO when I see the 1280s on here but 640 is a good start for me I feel. Cheers

If you can change your vision to thermal spectrum range, will you do it?

Just a relax talk

Assuming the FOV and resolution remain the same as your normal eyes.

Also, will you choose MWIR or LWIR?

FLIR T540 carry on bagage

Does anyone know if it’s allowed to take a FLIR T540 as a carry on the plane from Belgium to Norway? It’s a 22.000 euro camera and I don’t want it confiscated.

Just got the tc001 max and tried it in a dealership showroom

Just got a topdon thermal camera and tried it in a dealership showroom.

Didn’t expect an indoor scene to look this interesting, but the lights, wheels, and reflections gave the image way more going on than I expected. Switching the false color palette in the app helped a lot too.

Still new to thermal, but it was a fun reminder that reading the scene matters just as much as spotting heat.

Looking for a thermal camera with manual focus, any feedback?

Just like many on here, I have been curious about thermal cameras for quite a while. The usual reasons; they look like a fun toy with genuine usefulness. Looking for unusually hot or cold components when repairing electronics, checking building insulation and hot or cold drafts, etc.

I had been looking at several of the 256x192 pixel units like the Mileseey TR256i and the Infiray P2 Pro. While I have no problem with arranging a DIY macro lens for close-up work if I need to, I liked the idea of a unit with a manual focus. Then I came across the Thermal Master P3 for $299 and this unit has a manual focus lens.  This seems pretty reasonable to me, $30 cheaper than the manual focus P2 Pro. A couple of macro lenses would cost me most of that difference.

How is the P3? Or does anyone have better suggestions?

LWIR camera comparisons for industrial use

I'm a plant manager responsible for inspections and monitoring - new at this particular company. They've always used dinky thermal imaging handhelds I could get on amazon and I want to upgrade. So far, I see Flir, LightPath, Fluke and HIKMICRO. We have the budget. Would appreciate any REAL experience with any of these or others to help me narrow it down.

Here’s an interesting one, car charger that cools your phone

Bought a car charger that claimed that it cools your phone while charging in the car. Pretty sure it uses piezoelectric cooling technology.

Did a quick test in my bedroom at got the readings shown, pretty neat. Mind you my room is sitting at ~71 F. Will test in field later and see how well it actually helps my phone cool while charging / operating in my car.

I let it run for about 5-10 minutes before taking the readings.

MilESEEY TNV10 Pro Disassembly?

This is probably a very niche question, but I own a MiLESEEY TNV10 Pro version, and would like to try disassembling it to make my own DIY improvments. I find it hard to believe it needs to be so large and heavy. Its not bad as is, but I'm experienced in tinkering with my gear and would like to improve it slightly with some 3d printing to possibly make a lighter and more compact housing. I can't see any obvious ways to disassemble without being destructive. Has anyone by chance has experience with this?
