Hi! I'm not a local and I want to hear some subjective inputs from you, the people of The Hague.

One of the ongoing stuff in The Hague is the International Criminal Court (ICC) conducting a trial on a certain Filipino political figure. While that's happening, there are people (i presume) that are protesting in front of the ICC, carrying out prayer vigils and other things. As a local and/or resident of The Hague, how does this affect daily life? It could be anything from work, going from point A to B, the environment, or peace and order.

Posting on behalf of wifey who recently moved from London to here and is frustrated about not being able to find a hair salon for her needs 😄. She is not fussy, in fact, she got a terrible result at one of the salons (now closed and another salon opened at that place) for her curls and she didn't object to anything. this was during one of her visits to me.

Now that she has permanently moved here, the added challenge of the language barrier is coming in her way to confidently book a hair dresser.

therefore, ladies of the Hague, where do you go for a hair cut (think of split ends), washing and drying where the hair dresser thinks with you (in English hopefully) and provides you with satisfied results. We know of Aveda, WI Kappers and Central Hair Salon, but she prefers more affordable rates.

the not-so -preferred locations are all the way west (Scheveningen and surrounding) as we live a little south east.

Are there any other options to rent a camera except budget cam ( too expensive for just 1 day) or gear Brooker (for some reason the website throws a 500 error while booking, I can't seem to solve it, customer support takes forever and people don't seem to respond at all).

The city is quite new to me and I thought it would be easy to do so. If you know someone who's willing to lend their camera for a day please let me know.😭🙏

My flatmate and I received a letter saying we had new medebewoner at our house, this person is our landlord. He’s doesn’t live with us, and after asking him he said yes it’s correct he’s registered there but won’t tell us why.

He’s now asking me why it’s an issue, and actually it affects our huurtoeslag which we’ve only been able to claim since the rules changed in January. I feel like avoiding mentioning we recieve toeslag, as he wants us to move out of the house I’m concerned it somehow might affect our contract.

1. Does anyone know another reason I can give as to why him saying he’s living at our house in an issue? He also randomly accused me of moving out the house recently which I have not.

2. We have a permanent contract, if we are receiving huurtoeslag does it give our landlord any leverage to kick us out? (We used to be three ppl but now are 2 but he won’t let someone new move in as he wants us to move out, and the toeslag helps us live here until another house comes up)

I’m just confused why he would register here and not tell us, and I’m worried if I call the ministry of finance and snitch on him that we’re affecting our possibilities of staying in the house, but want to still receive huurtoeslag.

I will go to the juridisch loket when I have the chance but that won’t be for a week and need to email him back, so any advice is very very welcome!!!

The house itself is very nice and spacious and it’s only 2 minutes away from the Paul Krugerlaan tramhalte. But I’ve heard nothing but bad things about the area. My question is: is it as bad as they say or is it exaggerated?

I recently bought a few parts for my bike and need to get them installed. Does anyone know a good, reliable shop in Den Haag that won’t rip me off on the labor?

Den Haag is a pretty solid city overall. Good mix of city, beach, quieter areas, and it functions better than a lot of places.

But everyone who lives here probably has at least one thing that annoys them or makes them think, how has this not been fixed yet?

So if you could actually change one thing in Den Haag, what would it be?

Could be housing, traffic, parking, Scheveningen, public transport, safety, nightlife, whatever.

Hi! Where in DenHaag Can I find cheeper parkings? Today is Sunday and in middle of city is underground parking, where I paid 1 euro per 10 minutes. But on the street, where is Italian Ambasaad I could pay more than 1.20 per 10 minutes. When I push more that 8 euros automat shows me 1 hour and 5 minutes... Can you tell me where is something cheeper? ❤️

Hello all, I've been living in Den Haag for 4 years now. I first studied here then started working a corporate job. After I stopped being a student, I regained my love for reading.

I was actually reading a book about a bookstore that had monthly book club, which got me thinking. Do you know/ did you ever join a book club in Den Haag? Please let me know because I would love to join, I also think it might be a fantastic way to have a bit more social life after leaving uni behind.

Which are your favourite stalls, mainly for fruit and veg at the market?

Of course there’s a lot of variation depending on prices. Last week I got things from the first stall as you enter on your left, it was fresh and lasted well beyond my expectations. 3 mangos for 2 euros, 2 packs of strawberries for 4 euros etc.

Also eggs from the cheese guy in the middle were very tasty and fresh.

It is humiliating for me to ask this but after now years of medical appointments leading nowhere, GP dismissing my symptoms, vulvar dermatologist 'not seeing the problem' and me still having very much the same problem I am starting to reach a point where I am desperate and it is affecting my mental health.

Basically two years ago I developed a pain in my private parts, burning, itching and got prescribed anti yeast at first which worked. But then it came back extremely painful and intense and didn't ever left to the point I don't have any symptoms of yeast infection except the burning pain that keeps me from intercourse. I have been diagnosed with vestibulitis, which apparently is a bit of an umbrella Diagnosis. I've been prescribed a ton of different creams which all made it worse even the lidocaine. The dermatologist telling me she can't see the problem while testing my pain reaction and seeing that I indeed feel pain.

At this point I am just so tired and desperate. I need a specialist who is safe, someone who listens and doesn't tell me it's in my head. I need a solution. Even sitting is painful at this point. So if you guys know any specialist in the area of Den Haag that would be incredibly helpful to me.

I know this is super intimate but I am desperate. I need help.

Edit : just noticed I wrote "specialized vulvodyynia specialist", most of the time specialists are specialized so my bad.

I’m looking for some local hospitality talent to help me celebrate a bit of a milestone.

After a pretty bumpy ride over the last few years, I’ve decided to go all out and celebrate my 50th and 6 months birthday this summer! I’m planning a garden party at my home for about 50 people in July and I’m looking for a student-led team or a group of motivated hospitality students to help with the catering.

I would love to give this opportunity to students (from schools like ROC Mondriaan, mboRijnland, or Hotelschool The Hague) who are looking to gain some real-world experience and show off what they can do.

I have been looking for a nice place that serves those and found some, but is there a nice cocktail bar or restaurant that anyone would recommend? funny thing I noticed, I could sell a multi tool in 15minutes, since all of us are somehow into doing things DIY and look for tools 24/7, but an old case or GPU would take a year to sell.

I know the running joke is that there’s no nightlife in Den Haag, and after yesterday, my friend and I are starting to see why, but we have refused to believe it! We're also not enthusiastic about frequent commuting to Amsterdam or Rotterdam just to get a decent night out. Also because we have spontaneous burst of energy to go dancing as an afterthought.

We’re in our late 20s/early 30s and recently moved to Den Haag after living in Amsterdam and other big cities in the UK and Europe. We’ve accepted that the scene in Den Haag is smaller abd we are not trying to replicate our past experiences but we’re also convinced there are hidden gems we just haven’t found yet.

We tried a few spots yesterday and Latin isn’t really our vibe, and while we checked out Lustig, we spent more time batting away unwanted attention than actually dancing.

So here's what we're looking for:

Music: Afro, Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, or even some good EDM.

Vibe: A place where people actually go to dance rather than watching you dance and also where women can actually dance and have a good time without being constantly hassled.
