Hey guys, so I really want to go to TGSSI but are we required to attend the May 16th-17th virtual component plus the in-person? Or do we choose one and also attend the May 6th? I'm confused, I want to go but I have a scheduling conflict on May 16th. I emailed them but I want to know if anybody had the same issue as me :(
I wanted to check because from what I know Gates only covers undergrad. However I was told from another finalist if you’re a QB full ride they cover your master degree. Is this true?

I haven’t stopped crying, like I genuinely feel like a failure. My bestfriend and I go to a very small school in the middle of nowhere atp, but we both ended up being finalists. She got chosen as a scholar and I didn’t. I’m so very proud of her, but it absolutely breaks my heart and I haven’t felt this way since I got the news that’s I tore my acl. I feel physically sick like. am i only the only one this heartbroken, this was my last chance at affording college

Hello everyone, I received a call this morning from a number in Georgia, but I couldn’t answer since I was in school. I got a message from that number saying they were part of Gates and to call them back by 5pm PST today because they had important information to give me. I’m trying to call back, but they haven’t answered. Has anyone else gotten a call?
I have to choose between going to the Gates Institute this summer or going to nationals for speech and debate. what are the pluses of going to the Gates program in the long run? Do they connect you with opportunities during that time? Thanks!

I won the Gates Scholarship and I would LOVE to go to the Summer Institute, but the virtual conference is on the same day as my big concert day, where I will be performing in five different ensembles. I cannot miss these performances. If you won the Gates Scholarship in the past and attended the Summer Institute, can you tell me how the virtual conference went? When you attend it, is it required to have cameras on and is there a lot of participation required? Thank you!
