I just realized all the bodies on the ground in the caves are all naked and you can see all their parts so you’re telling me all the cannibals just undressed everyone and left them there

Literally can’t find at least one Person to play with for more than a few hours then never hear from them again. It’s happened so many times. I’m chill and share everything I get. Also I’m not perfect at this game it will admit. I’m just gonna stick to my solo game which is def not on the same level of multiplayer. I’m EST. And plenty old enough (not a child. It seems like a pipe dream at this point. If you are down to play co-op or multiplayer let me know. I’m totally down. Im about to open my server and I don’t want to do that one bit

I've been playing The Forest for a few hours, and the game is just too difficult due to how dark the caves get. I've not made much progress in the story because I've heard you need to explore the caves to continue, and I've only managed to do one so far. The problem is that the caves are so dark, its make it so annoying to explore them. I've made fire torches, but it's annoying that I can't equip it to my left hand and equip a weapon on the right (unless you can).

When playing the game, I thought it was a survival game, but the thought that I have to keep going into the caves as it's the only way to progress the story is off-putting for me. I don't mind how hard the enemies are in the cave. It's just that the darkness makes it impossible to see what's happening, and I get lost very quickly, no matter how high I increase the brightness in the settings. It would be nice to be able to equip a lantern on your waist or equip some source of light that isn't limited, but I know it's a horror game, so it's a part of that.

I did find a flashlight, but I didn't realise how quickly the batteries run out, and I don't have enough spare batteries. I'm only at the start of the game, and I know it will get harder, so I think I might stop playing before I go insane because I like everything else about it, except for the darkness. The more caves I explore, the more I realise the next one is getting bigger and deeper. I enjoy the realism and crafting aspects of the game, but the darkness in the caves is stopping me from playing further, and Its been an on-and-off thing as I keep deleting and reinstalling the game since I like everything else in the game except for the caves.

I play a lot of horror games, and this one seems to make navigating in the dark even harder. I'm wondering if this is the same in the second game, as I might skip the first to move on to the second, which might have fixed many issues, but I'm worried about spoilers.

I've been roaming around the island and found a few caves. I let myself get knocked out so I got the map and the compass which I feel will help but other than that, I'm just lost and confused. Any tips on how I get some hints?

My friends and I just spent about three hours after we all (like idiots) fell down to the very bottom of the big cave where you need climbing gear to navigate it. The one that leads into the bottom of the sinkhole. Except none of us had any climbing gear. So we spent three hours trying to get out. When we finally got close to the top I fell and died so had to go back to get all my stuff. Just before I reached my stuff I fell and died again. Finally got my stuff back and left the cave and we went to explore in another cave where we immediately died again because we got stuck underwater and couldn’t see a way out.

Has anyone else had any similarly annoying experiences or are me and my friends just incredibly stupid?

I’m making a base on the far west side of the map on an island, and it’s decently big, but cannibals keeps spawning

It’s not too bad and no mutants have spawned, but I do want to try to prevent spawns if I can

Good morning everyone, I play The Forest sporadically, but lately I'm often in front of the PlayStation to try it, it's a game that I like but I consider myself a beginner, I'm anxious about the caves which are the main point of the game, and this doesn't allow me to progress, can I ask if there is anyone interested in playing with me?

How long (with regrow trees turned off) would it take to complete ‘don’t save the forest’ in single player? And how big of an area would I need to clear completely?
Also is there a limited supply of gas cans?
