Reliant free nights gone??

got solar+battery and signed up for 1Y free nights in November. I remember noticing in March they were offering a 3Y extension. Seeing a bit of what summer will be like I recently decided to take them up on the offer, but it was gone I then searched all their plans and they don't seem to offer free nights any more! Could the plans finally be going away?

4/25/26 Hail Storm

I’m in the DFW area and last night’s storm was pretty rough. I have a 2 story home with 29 panels but I can only see about 5 of them. 1 that I can see if beat up pretty bad so I can just imagine what the others look like. I wonder what replacement cost are for individual panels that are damaged.

Think I have 395 Myer Burger.

How To Do If Victim of Solar Scam

I rent a room in a house and my landlord is a senior citizen. Recently, though well before I moved in, he got scammed by a solar company. Sales rep smooth-talked him and because he's a naturally trusting person and doesn't follow the news, my landlord ended up handing over his SS on big promises. Company pulled out a loan from Mosaic and put a lien on his house. A work crew did come and install solar panels, but the system was nothing like what was pitched to him and doesn't even work. Work crew also left a mess in his yard when they left. Now he's stuck paying 275/mo on that loan. The sales rep is no longer reachable and the company itself is dissolved, the typical story.

I've already advised him to report the fraud to the authorities and get a credit freeze, but that's not gonna help the monthly loan bill he has. He doesn't have a lot of money to work with. He was contacted by a law firm specializing in solar scam litigation (Prevost), but they are demanding money de doesn't have up front. I was wondering if anyone could point him in the direction of some law firms that do contingency or some other legal options he has that won't break his bank?

Tesla powerwall outside vs inside garage installation

Context:

I live in the houston area. Im getting close to the install date for my solar with 2 tesla powerwall3's. I have a detached 3 car garage. I am not using the single car space currently, and that single garage door is almost flush with the side of the garage that has my power meter and main breaker box. So I have two otions. Either install the powerwalls in the garage 3 feet off the ground and hope that does not restrict any future owner from using that space for a car if they want to. Or mount them on the outside of the garage and not effect the functionality of the single car space.

Question:

Originally I was planning in having the batteries installed on the outside of the garage. But thinking more about it, I know batteries dont like extreme temps. Will the winter occasional freeze and the hot humid summers have a noticeable impact on the battery performance or am I over thinking it. The garage is not temp regulated but should insulate the batteries from the extremes being in the garage. So is it really worth having them installed in the garage or is the performance impact small enough that I should stick with my original plan and have them installed outside. They would be on a west facing wall and would only be exposed to direct sunlight a few hours in the afternoon.

What's the catch? What am I missing here?

It appears I pay them $450 and then get two batteries. They sell the electricity back to me at 8c per hour. What am I missing? GVEC is 8.5c + 2.3818c delivery fee + $25mo service charge + taxes and fees. I use between 700 and 1,400kWh per month.

Something seems too good to be true. What am I missing?

Please note that I do not have solar yet but I guess this would be my first step into that ecosystem.

Edit: I just signed up. Thank you everyone for your feedback. Let's see how this all goes!

Cost Effective solar installers that work with a TPO/Leaseback to get 30% cost reduction

Can someone recommend a cost effective installer for a 2 string 5 panel, 9 panel install on an existing Tesla Powerwall with MPPT-5 and MPPT-6 available? I was looking to install the setup myself but then I found out with the TPO/Leaseback you can get the 30% as long as you pay up front and you wait 5 years to buy... So this seems better on ROI if you can get the 30% that way. The two installers I got quotes from where 14k for a 5.5kw system and 8k for a 4.0kw system. Neither had the leaseback deal.

What is available and can someone point to me towards where a cost effective expansion can be added?
