Love our cars… sentry bust… hit and run in a parking lot. Young girl teaching young girl to drive. I thought I was safe parking by the concrete. Nope.

Bought a Tesla just to go get it stuck in Yucca Valley

Not that straight forward, but did indeed get my model 3 stuck in an old river out in Yucca Valley. Thought I’d make the best of it and get some nice pictures.

Was told to use this road to evade getting stuck while getting some nice views for an engagement proposal.

Ended up getting stuck. Still got the magical shots, and dealt with a stuck EV in sand later.

Really want Tesla to just give me an option to set my speed and use FSD instead of “speed profiles”.

Title says it all.. for my life - the car does not follow speed limits, even in standard car goes over 10mph compared to posted signs and chill is too slow. I just want traditional set the speed but use FSD at the same time…

Sun protection during summer

I recently purchased a new Model 3 and with summer arriving shortly, I was wondering what are some solutions for keeping out as much heat and direct sunlight as possible. I don’t have an option to park my car in a garage or under any type of roof, so it has been staying under direct sunlight with temps reaching around 30°C outside.

I know it’s a car and it’s not going to melt in direct sunlight, but I still want to take some precautions. I plan on keeping this car for as long as it will run, so cumulation of extreme cabin temperatures and direct sunlight on the interior isn’t moot. I’ve been looking into sunshades of all kinds, as well as car covers, but I can’t decide on what keeps the heat and sunlight out the most.

What did you do if you have similar conditions to mine? If I do decide to pull the trigger on getting sunshades / a car cover, what’s the best bang for buck website to order it from?

Thank you all in advance!

TLDR: i keep my car in direct sunlight at home and want to protect the interior from wear and tear as the temperatures outside the car easily reach 30°C+. I’m worried more about the accumulation of sun / heat damage over the span of 10+ years (i know it doesn’t do immediate damage) so I’m looking into sunshades / car covers / anything else that covers my inside. What should I get and what are the pros and cons of every option?

Is a 2023 Model Y Performance a bad family car and should I get a Long Range instead?

I found a 2023 Model Y Performance with HW4 and 45k miles nearby for a very attractive price and I'm wondering if it will be a noticeably worse family car than the Long Range version.

I live in downtown Chicago so plenty of potholes and crap roads here and I've heard the suspension is stiffer. The Long Range seems like it will be plenty quick for my needs so I don't really care about the extra acceleration tbh. On a side note, I've noticed the Performance trim doesn't seem to have held up it's value very well and is often times the same or less than comparable Long Range Model Y's. Any reason why this could be the case?

Is there any benefit to having the larger tires other than the different rims?

Is the any functional benefit to having the larger 20" rims upgrade aside from aesthetics?

Better traction or handling?

Otherwise why wouldn't they just have 19" premium rims? I would prefer to keep the longer range of the 19" wheels but think the all black don't look great.

Does anyone prefer the old style seats to the vented?

I test drove a Juniper today and the new seats felt way too soft. I felt like the older style are firm and provided more support.

The change to soft plush panels and dash feel like a step down in quality compared to hard plastic.

Am I going crazy or is it just because it's different and I need to get used to it.

Unrelated - removing the second stalk very much dislike.

Ambient light & audio upgrades for Model 3 Standard?

Greetings everyone,

I'm currently looking for aftermarket interior lighting for my new M3 Standard.

My primary choice would be to get the S3XY Strip fron Enhance, as I feel is probably the more premium option, but it's only the center light and I dont know if there are going to release expansions.

The second option would be one of the many accessory brands like Hansshow, Yeslak or Teslasy, which they all offer some form of interior light but I'm afraid they might lack some comfort feature like auto dimming for night time and stuff like that.

I'd like to get a wrap around light like the Premium ones but with addition of foot, possibly door handles & center console tunnel.

If there is also a way to enable screen control even on Standard models that would be fantastic, but I feel that's out of reach.

What would you guys suggest to get the result I'm looking for?

As for the audio, the standard audio system is decent but I feel it lacks bass, so I'm looking to install 2 subs in the trunk where they are installed in the Premium AWD / Performance models.

What would I need in term of cables / DSP / amps to make them work?

Thanks in advance to whoever might be able to help!

PS: I'm in EU.

Delivery Question

I ordered on 4/2, it said est delivery 1 week, and the delivery center is saying it’s set to arrive 4/11 (Saturday). Does that mean I’m going to be able to take delivery ON Saturday? Or they’ll just now finally ping my app to schedule on Saturday?

Thanks in advance. I’m without a car until I get this one so just trying to plan accordingly.

New Tesla owner - unlocking doors question

I recently purchased a Model Y and am having a hard time figuring out how to open/unlock my passenger doors.

Example scenario from yesterday: I pick up some pizza for dinner. Walk out to my car, straight no to the passenger door. Phone key in my pocket, nothing happens. Door remains locked. I open the Tesla app and push the unlock button. Only the driver door unlocks.

I now have to walk around to the driver side, open the door, and long press the button to unlock the whole car.

Walk back to passenger side to place pizza in the footwell.

😅

Is there a way to unlock and open any passenger door WITHOUT needing to open the driver door first?

TIA!
