Sun protection during summer
I recently purchased a new Model 3 and with summer arriving shortly, I was wondering what are some solutions for keeping out as much heat and direct sunlight as possible. I don’t have an option to park my car in a garage or under any type of roof, so it has been staying under direct sunlight with temps reaching around 30°C outside.
I know it’s a car and it’s not going to melt in direct sunlight, but I still want to take some precautions. I plan on keeping this car for as long as it will run, so cumulation of extreme cabin temperatures and direct sunlight on the interior isn’t moot. I’ve been looking into sunshades of all kinds, as well as car covers, but I can’t decide on what keeps the heat and sunlight out the most.
What did you do if you have similar conditions to mine? If I do decide to pull the trigger on getting sunshades / a car cover, what’s the best bang for buck website to order it from?
Thank you all in advance!
TLDR: i keep my car in direct sunlight at home and want to protect the interior from wear and tear as the temperatures outside the car easily reach 30°C+. I’m worried more about the accumulation of sun / heat damage over the span of 10+ years (i know it doesn’t do immediate damage) so I’m looking into sunshades / car covers / anything else that covers my inside. What should I get and what are the pros and cons of every option?
