Theft of teslas
Has there been any legit thefts? It is impossible to steal unless using a crane to pick it up lol

I'm buying an EV in the near future. It's always been the plan, even before the NL thing was really a thing. Anyway, Tesla was never on the list of cars to consider. A mate told me if it's not on the list, don't test drive it, cause you'll love it. I went on a holiday for a few days and hired one to see what the fuss was about. So, now it's at the top of the list and I'm almost 100% going to buy one.
As the title suggests, I'm currently tossing up which is the best Model Y option for us.
My head is saying RWD. My heart is not so easily convinced though 😂
It will be my wife's car so she wouldn't really know/care about/feel the difference day to day - except I'm sure she'd appreciate the better sound system.
I'll be the driver on road trips and I love driving so would like the additional power and curvy road handling of the AWD.
Also, being our first EV I think there's a bit of range anxiety regarding longer trips. I asked Chatty to help with a real world scenario - driving ~900km road trip from Melbourne to Mollymook. The main difference was that the trip would take about 30-45 min longer in the RWD sure to slower charging and the need to top up a bit more at each charge (still only 2 charges needed in either vehicle for the trip). From what I've read so far, many people have bought cars with more range only to realise later that they didn't really need it.
We would only be doing 4-5 trips a year that are more than 250km one way.
So I suppose I'm looking for:
a) reassurance that th RWD will be enough for our circumstances
b) reasons why people bought the AWD and whether you are still happy with your decision
The extra $10k isn't insignificant but I'm happy to pay it if it'll be something we will regret later. Planning to keep the car for hopefully 10 years+.
Have seen a fair share of these folks
4 weeks since picking up my Model Y and am still waiting on any kind of update from factory software to be able to use FSD, despite having paid $10k upfront. Anyone else in the same boat of still waiting? Have seen many people posting about getting their OTA updates but I’m still waiting and getting absolutely nowhere when I try to reach out to Tesla customer service.
This can’t be right 😰 from cursory check this suggests the same level of post nuclear war fumes.
If they get this from car’s sensor maybe i need to get this checked.
Hey everyone, just checking in to see if anyone in Melbourne has received delivery booking notifications from Tesla for May 2026?
I’m still waiting on any update about my delivery schedule and haven’t heard anything yet. Curious if others are in the same boat or if some deliveries have already been scheduled.
If you’ve received a notification or have any info, please share your timeline or experience—it would really help!
Hoping you can help me. Considering getting a Model 3 Long Range 2024/2025 preferably. Actually like the idea of no stalks. I currently have a 2023 BYD Seal Premium that has 40K KMs on it. Just wanted your thoughts if worth upgrading or best to keep the BYD for couple more years. Thanks
Now just gotta sell the Model X!
No idea who it was that flipped me (or more likely my car) off through my rear view. I was parked and didn't interact with them at all.
Has anyone else seen this level of hatred? Is it jealously, somehow aimed at Elon Musk or just sheer stupidity? Worth a laugh nonetheless.
Should tesla superchargers be exclusive to Teslas only?
Thoughts
I’m obsessed. I check the app every half an hour, hoping, praying for some miracle that the delivery date has miraculously been moved closer.
I am beyond excited and have been dreaming of owning a Tesla for many, many years!
How will I survive for 4 months!
Ive seen it posted online about the new canadian version of the model 3.
Do you think we will see the same model and a price drop soon?
Everyone says it’s cheaper but I want some real numbers from people here
The Tesla app is offering Acceleration Boost for A$3000 for my Juniper MY Dual Motor. If you’ve purchased this upgrade - what do you think of it? Worth it?
So although we love the Tesla cars and tech, are any of you still a bit uncomfortable about owning a car that’s owned by EM? How did you reconcile this?
I ordered a Model Y L and had a question about the tasks, do I have to do any tasks in order for them to assign a car to me or can I just wait for them to assign it then do the tasks?
I ordered a Model Y long range with FSD ($10,100 less $2070 discount) about 10 weeks ago. It will soon be ready for collection and Tesla have said I can cancel the pre-paid FSD if I wish and just buy it monthly.
Wondering whether it’s better to stick with the FSD purchased outright, or go with the monthly subscription.
Hello everyone,
I have a question for Tesla owners who have experienced the same process. I just got an update from Tesla that my MY RWD order is expected to arrive at the Service Centre on 31/05/26. Does anyone have a rough estimate for when I should schedule the delivery date? I need to coordinate this with the detailer for the ceramic coating and tinting on my end in advance.
Thank you.
