First things first, I want to establish that I'm not transphobic. I fully respect and cherish the transgender people in my life, whether they're friends or my current boyfriend.

I started dating a girl I really liked about 7 ish months ago and it was going great. However, they told me about a month ago that they no longer feel comfortable being represented as a girl or being refered to as a girl and that they felt as though they were more comfortable as a man.

I instantly let him know that I support him, because I do, and that if he ever wants to chat that I'm always free. I still love him and for a little while it seemed as though nothing really changed.

However, I can't help but feel that I'm just holding onto the girl that I once knew rather than the boy that I know now and it feels horrible to think that I don't love him for who his is, rather who he no longer feels comfortable identifying as.

If you read this far thank you and please let me know what you think is the best thing to do in my situation.

My mom is a good mom and she does things right with most things, but she has no regard for privacy in the slightest.

For instance, she NEVER knocks on my bedroom door. She just barges in. My dad does, because he understands, and he was actually a teenage boy at one point.

What if I’m changing and I forgot to lock the door? Too bad, I’m exposed. And she has the audacity to say “I saw you when you were born” okay mom well my body had an update so please don’t barge in, thanks.

She literally said “do you think that you have any private space in this house? Because you don’t.”

She has this thought that she needs to barge into my room and catch me watching porn on my phone or some shit. Like what? First of all I don’t even watch porn (honestly) and she has nothing to find if she goes through my room or my phone, and I have told her that. But she doesn’t believe me.

She says that if I have a screen in my room at all then the door has to be open. Which is stupid, because it doesn’t take that long to open a door and walk in. I understand not locking the door when I have a screen in my room, but at least knock.

She doesn’t understand that SCIENTIFICALLY teenagers need some privacy or somewhere they can go to have some privacy, it is necessary.

So what do I do to get her to understand that not knocking, barging in, being a helicopter parent and being invasive is not the way to go?

I used to love running but I like it less because of my boobs unfortunately. Sometimes they hurt and sometimes the bra does not work. I also don’t like how big they look especially because I am a smaller person.
