Super8 wedding videographer

Hi everyone!

We’re a couple planning our wedding in Spain in 2027 and we’ve recently fallen in love with the idea of having a Super 8 film made of our wedding.

We’re looking for a filmmaker or content creator who works with Super 8 (or hybrid Super 8 + digital) and we’d love some recommendations or advice from people who’ve done this before.

A few things we’re curious about:
* What is a realistic budget range for Super 8 coverage of a wedding day?
* Are there specific creators or studios in Spain or Europe you would recommend?
* Is it common to combine Super 8 with digital coverage, or is it usually separate?

We’re drawn to that nostalgic, timeless, slightly imperfect cinematic feel; something that feels nostalgic.

Any recommendations or experiences would be super appreciated :)

Thank you!

First Super 8 Cartridges!

Hey all!

Just got done with shooting my first two rolls of 200T. Sadly, first one jammed 3 times.. and after the 3rd time of reloading it wouldn’t advance anymore so I had to pop in the spare. Luckily, no issues with that one.

Still want to get both cartridges dev + scanned. I’m hoping I at least got a minute or so of usable footage from the first cartridge.

Shot on the Canon 518 Auto Zoom.

Is The Negative Space the best bang for your buck and turnaround time these days? Thanks!

Howdy fellas, can my Canon Reflex Zoom 8 Take this film? I know the camera needs double 8 and the package says double 8, but I’m confused by the 16mm tag above it and the picture shows 16mm perforations, not 8mm. I know I have to respool it on 10m rolls, I just don’t wanna buy the wrong film.

Taiwan on super 8 with some scans of art I found at markets. Also added VO from a friend I made along the way. Got a little Bell and Howell right before I left. Third 8mm camera I’ve had, they always die.

Fixing a super 8

Is it affordable to get a super 8 tested? I want mine tested and fixed. Never used it before but it’s in great “looking” condition. I live in Utah and every camera store says that they won’t work with super 8 Canon cameras:(

Hello everyone!
I thrifted a roll of Kodak Plus-X for $2 in Springfield, OR and shot it to test out a Super 8 camera I’d also thrifted. I just got the scans back and I realized the first few minutes weren’t mine, it looks like someone’s birthday from years ago.

Thought this was super cool, and I’d love to get it back to them. Does anyone recognize anyone in these frames?

Some super 8 footage from The Wonder Years residency at the TLA last month. First part of the video was shot on a Nizo S560 and the back half was shot on a Beaulieu 4008 ZMII. Audio is from the last show on 4/15/26.

Hi all, dumb question perhaps but I am VERY new to cameras.

I recently got this Bell & Howell 492. And after carefully cleaning it I noticed this line appeared in the screen, it looks way too straight and way too centred to be something that shouldn't be there?

But I could also have just broken it somehow, and if I did; is this fixable? Will it show up in photos? I didn't spend a whole lot on it (a whopping €5) so it's okay if it's not fixable haha.

Thanks :)

Hi everyone. I’m new to super 8 but really excited to start. I have a camera shop near me that quoted me $100 to get super 8 film developed in HD. I don’t know if this a good price so I’m wondering if it may be better to buy a film developer myself or to send in? Are there cheaper options for sending in and getting high quality digital files?

Hi folks,

I'd like to be able to test this camera which will be at an estate sale this weekend. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with vintage video cameras and knows what I would need. From my research, it seems I need two AAs for the motor, and two of any of these for the light meter: SR43, AG12, LR1142, 386, 301, 186, LR44, PX13, PX625.

Thanks!!

Anyone know of a decent eyepiece for Beaulieu 4008?
Bless the good folks at Pro8mm but this one turns inside out when you put your eye to it. Thanks for any leads.

I tried the Multnomah County Library system, but it doesn't appear as though they have the equipment. I also have videotapes and Video8/Hi8 mini tapes from late 80's/early 90's home camcorder videos that I want to digitally convert. There appeared to be an 8 mm/Super 8 digital converter available through the Washington County library, but it looks like it was lost, which is a bummer.

Devices are available for sale online like the Kodak Reels 8 mm digital converter but they're over $400 and I don't want to pay for that for a one time use.

Open Signal/Community Media Center is a potential option for Videotape and Video8 conversion but don't think they have the older late 60's/70's reel-to-reel 8mm converters. Thanks for the help.
