I love Times Like These. It’s so nostalgic, but happy and about living in the moment I think. Just perfection.

Also High Fashion. It gives some sort of vibe I can’t describe well but it’s amazing.

Also Addison is the first artist I’ve liked their whole album in the first listen. It’s just incredible. I love her so much.

I (M/25) have a strange history with Addison. From the time she blew up on TikTok to only 2 months ago, I really disliked her and thought she was a vapid industry plant who had no right being as popular as she was. But after the story of her striking down that ICE video with her song in it and the pics of her at the Grammys came out, I started to change my tune and fully did when I watched various interviews with her and realized she’s probably the sweetest person in the world. I’m genuinely really interested in her as a person and I dig and relate to how she’s had so many setbacks, but keeps picking herself back up and smiling away. Like I read stuff about what’s she put up with in her past and I’m horrified, especially because a lot of people seem to respond by making up lies that she’s a coke-addicted MAGAt because I can tell that’s not true (I can 100% tell she has ADHD like she said bc I also have it). But for a while, I didn’t really listen to her music because I felt like it wouldn’t appeal to me. Not that I thought it would be bad, but I’m a straight white guy so I just didn’t think it would be my thing. Today, I finally listened to her album and…unfortunately my fears were correct.

I’m really sorry, but I didn’t like it. I didn’t HATE it mind you, it’s decently well written and produced, just not my thing and not what I would’ve expected if I solely knew her from her interviews. My problem isn’t the common criticism she keeps getting that it’s “inauthentic“, that’s BS, rather it’s that it seems like she has a lot of interesting stuff on her mind but isn’t too sure right now how to convey that in a way that feels uniquely to her personality. I’ve heard people say that she‘s working on her style and will evolve, but considering how commercially and critically successful her album was, I’m worried that we’ll just get more of that stuff.

But I feel awful that I disliked it because again, I LOVE her as a person and I hate the idea of not being able to understand why all of you enjoyed it so much. It genuinely makes me super sad, but unfortunately I have to say it’s not my thing, although I’ll always appreciate and love Addison :(

I think addison toned down a bit on her over the top y2k aesthetic after the fall out(probably in some agreement between her and lexee so they won't get any drama out of it)

and I don't think we'll get the same music video quality as we had before

but the good thing is, maybe with the aesthetic being a bit toned down many people who didn't like addison for her over the top vibe before can get into her

I do think addison had a hand in her aesthetic but a lot of it felt borrowed from lexee

I love how private Addison is. You dont see much of her when she is out and about maybe occasional paparazzi photos but not nearly as much for someone who is more famous now more than ever. She keeps her private life to herself and protects herself. I feel like since she is obviously a student of pop culture and Britney Spears in particular, she learned how easily your freedom can be taken from you and how privacy is a right. I feel like it part of her whole freedom and control thing as that was something Britney was never able to have and led to her demise 😞 But obviously the times are different now and people give celebrities more privacy but Addison really makes it a point since so many things about her during her tik tok days were so public. As much as i would love to know more about her life as a huge fan, i equally love that she keeps her cards close.
