Well, I just got done replaying Flower, Sun, and Rain last night after playing through it a few years ago.

I still stand by my opinion that this is arguably Suda51's best game. In terms of gameplay, this is one of his weaker titles given how tedious it becomes to walk from one place to another, but the fact he makes fun of the gameplay loop as FSR continues on makes it more bearable. I also think the concept of every puzzle being based around numbers is done pretty well.

It's the atmosphere and story where FSR truly shines. This is easily one of Suda's funniest and hopeful games which makes it a nice change from the darker themes and moods he creates in his other games. The way he constantly makes fun of the game itself while breaking the 4th wall never gets old. And the way FSR connects back to The Silver Case and foreshadows the events of Killer7? Chef's kiss.

Definitely plan to write more on FSR in my spare time so stay tuned!

Should I buy Romeo is a Dead Man?

I have reached a shortage of games with great stories and gameplay and I've seen footage of Romeo is a Dead Man and it looks unique and fun as hell, however there are mixed reviews. Call me uncultured but I've never played a Suda51 game before so this is all completely alien to me and it looks surreal. I however have two main concerns. One- is the story any good? I'm looking for some narrative games and it seems like it has a good narrative, I like stories with good set pieces emotional beats, good characters and a few bonkers plot twists too. Now I'm not asking for the next NieR Automata, few games are that good, however I'm at least hoping Romeo ticks those boxes narratively. As for gameplay, I've heard many compare it to Resident Evil 4, which is a delight as that is probably my favourite moment to moment combat gameplay in any game, period. However, does it actually come close to that and, also, importantly, is there a parry? It's oddly specific but I just love parrying. The game doesn't need it but I'd love if it were there. Anyways, that's all guys, I hope you get back to me shortly, and thank you in advance! 😄

I was listening to my Smiths playlist while just doing the jobs on SD, and dude, I didn't miss Masafumi Takada's soundtrack or find weird listening to the lyrics and sound of The Smiths and to think how fucking true and fitting to the whole vibe and aesthetic of SD, it feels like it could easily belong to the vibe and atmosphere on what goes on in Travis's mind while he's working for a living and for the next ranking fight, The Smiths sound doesn't feel unfamiliar and uninvestigated to Santa Destroy and it's gray and lifeless tone, it feels like it belongs to the city long long ago.

Hello Suda fans, this is our time to shine. Let's show our love to these 2 games and maybe bring them into the spotlight enough for Xbox to consider them!

Access the linked website and click on the search bar, search and vote for Lollipop Chainsaw and No More Heroes Hero's Paradise.

With the recent rumors about new backwards compatible games added to Xbox this website acts as a survey to let people express their opinion on which games should be added next, this is not official but it could bring attention to those two absolute gems by Suda.

Most of Suda51's old xbox games are already available on the modern system but this could open the door to two of his arguably best games ever. (Possibly even playable on PC if next the next generation of xbox will be a hybrid)

The original Lollipop Chainsaw and No More Heroes Hero's Paradise have never been ported to the backwards compatible program, they are completely forgotten on the Xbox 360.

This would open the door for newcomers and also become an unofficial remaster of the two. Games that become available thru Xbox's backwards compatibility receive a handful of improvements such as higher native graphics and better framerate.

Just yesterday I posted my longer piece on my replay of Flower, Sun, and Rain. Having some days to think about it after finishing, I still stand by this title being Suda51's best work in the way he switches darkness for light in both narrative and atmosphere while still retaining his style and direction. For much as FSR may be a mystery, it's actually the personal journey of a man coming to terms with who he is and accepting himself despite the strange and frustrating situation he finds himself in. Though the gameplay may be somewhat tedious, it perfectly fits with the laid back feel and if anything, it grew on me far more this time around.

For those interested in reading more on my thoughts, head over to my post via the link: https://writingcreativelyandpassionately.com/flower-sun-and-rain-replay-revisiting-suda51s-beautifully-surreal-time-loop-journey/

Does anyone know if the quotes given by the Nirvana TV guy are original or referenced from other works?

For example this one from the chapter "Conflict"

Do you believe Deadman?

A man wept as he gazed upon a woman with beautiful eyes. He adored her, and grieved over the loss of his prayers.

So the woman gouged out her eyes. The man wept again at the beauty that had been ruined.

God was pleased at the sign of the man's return to faith. Seeking more, God summoned the woman.

The next morning, the woman died. That is how God works.

So, what was the point of changing Romeo's helmet?

I have finished the game and it's themes stuck with me hard, being thinking about it and reading stuff online a lot, but barely anyone bring this question. It happens with no reason and nobody really cares in the game, even Romeo himself, Ben just says it looks cool and Romeo is like uh okay like dude your face is normal again isn't it weird? I feel like there is an elephant I can't see

FSR - should I start over?

So I'm finally playing this... weird DS game completely blind, I'm just a couple hours in and I've just realized that the "daily" hints are about 3 hidden puzzles on that same day. So I missed all the early ones, thinking those were hints of the overall game.
I'm not very far (day 3 or 4), should I start it over and get all of them? Is there a NG+ or something that carries over what you unlocked? Is it even worthy to get them?

Romeo is a Deadman- mall boss help

Hi.

I'm playing on that orange difficulty and usually had mo problem with the game until this boss. When he's at a quarter health left the arena shrinks, lightning rains down from everywhere, there's electric patterns on the floor, AND something fly will kill you. I swear at this point any mistake means getting knocked into anything else uncontrollably then yiu die.

What can I do? I use that reflect zombie bastard and it barely does anything. Thank yiu

Searching for a OST in Romeo is a deadman

I searched for long time but without success. The OST is in the Palace Athene normal difficulty…
Didn’t found it on YouTube or SoundCloud either… I hope you know which OST I mean.
