Unique Covers

I love finding covers where the artist completely takes the song and makes it their own. I would love to find enough to make an awesome Playlist.

Some examples I have found:

Hotline Bling by Christiana Daniella

Say My Name by Hozier

Stand By Me by Stephen Wilson Junior

This Woman's Work by Greg Laswell

I also love covers that are instrumental remakes. Once again, I love a unique take, not when the song is literally an instrumental cover of same exact melody.

For example, Hotline Bling by Nate Fifield

Thanks!

songs that start off “normal” & build up?

hi everyone! there’s this certain style (formatting?) in some songs that i’m a HUGE fan of, and was really looking forward to finding more!

i’ll provide some examples of what i’m looking for below, but it’s kind of when a track starts off normal/calming, but slowly escalates/builds up to something messier, rougher, & louder. i know lots of songs w/ big drops, but there’s some specific thing in some of the “main examples” that just hits kinda diff. maybe absence of heavy instrumentals at the start? if anyone knows stuff similar, please let me know! thanks so much :)

main examples:

- fairy song, beabadoobee

- blur, the marias

- killing time, magdalena bay

- vampire in the corner, magdalena bay

- watching tv, magdalena bay

some other examples:

- sorry, beabadoobee

- me and your mama, childish gambino

- 505, arctic monkeys

any rock/metal/alternative bands/artists?

heyy!! for my religion class, we have a project for christian music. i would like to present more non- typical music, as i am a huge post hardcore/ screamo fan. But for more general public, i would like to know some other musicians who are inspired by christianity. I already know: flyleaf, skillet and avenged sevenfold(their name is from the Bible)…since i am not religious, its harder for me to find any.

thank you!!

Songs that represent brain injury recovery

I’m usually pretty good at finding songs for how I’m feeling, but for my TBI recovery I can’t really find any songs that resonate. Any ideas? Could be stuff about chronic illness, headaches, changing, trauma, that kind of stuff. I’m into a lot of older music (1970s-2000s), but I’m open to pretty much everything.

IIL Ethereal, yet energetic music

I'm obsessed with music that makes you feel like your transcending. The problem is, most of the time when I look for this type of music, I just find really chill stuff that's honestly boring to me. I want music that has ethereal melodies and ambient chords mixed with a super energetic song structure. Here are some perfect examples of the vibe I'm looking for:

Nowhere, still somewhere by Sylvaine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAj5IS_wrtU

Je Suis D'ailleurs by Alcest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xLr4v1Lv1Q

Pneuma by Tool, especially from 4:00 to 5:00: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ClCaPmAA7s

Afterlife by Boris Brejcha, especially from about 3:12 to 4:42: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_qzw9Y4mlY

Timelapse by Boris Brejcha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaWCBruyCcI

Adrift in Hilbert Space by Ott: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6Zn_XuEdYs

Crumblenaut by Younger Brother, especially after 4:20: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBMevrK_HLg

Any recommendations? As you can see I mostly listen to rock and electronic, but I'm definitely open to recommendations outside those genre's.

Does anybody have any good Concert band recommendations?

I've listened to a lot of concert and symphony music recently, but I've been getting tired of only hearing Standbridge and Beethoven. If anybody knows intense pieces, please inform me.

Song recommendation for during child birth 🤰🏼

My best friend (31) is giving birth in 5 weeks and I’ve been assigned to create a music playlist for her during the labor/delivery. She loves listening to English songs from 2015-2020 era. But I’m confused with the genres, should it be soothing? Should it be something she can dance to? IDKKKK! Send help 🥲

Ps- it sucks that I won’t be there during the birth of her child since I live in a different country, I want to create the besssst playlist possible.😭💜

Song Recs for that feeling when you want to run away from it all

I'm looking to make a playlist of songs about running away from your life because you don't trust anybody. Very specific, but I figured someone out there might know.

Looking for album reccs! WHATS UR TOP 5 ALBUMS? (ANY GENRE)

I have about 20 under my belt so far, but im still looking for more. I initially started because I felt I was musically inept amongst my friend group and wanted to have a better aux with a wider variety. Obviously, I wasn't pressured, but I didn't wanna keep circulating the same 10 songs I liked and have since found a wide variety of music to listen to regularly. GIVE ME YOUR TOP 5!!!

Need help for an 70's American like radio playlist

Hello everyone, I hope my question gonna be clear. I'm searching a way to have access to a radio or a Playlist made by someone or else that would sound like a radio from the 70's or 60's united states.

I want adds, music and all that you would found listening to a radio station if you were an American in the 70's.

The more look a like I've found is the original soundtrack of '' once upon a time in Hollywood '' on Spotify. It plays the songs of the movie and add the adds that you can hear on the radio on many scenes.

Is there a way to find something like that?

Also, I'm a French guy (22),so if there is, in fact, some radio like that always running in the US, I don't know if I'll be able to access it. Thank you!
