26 pairs for 2026?!
Here are my first 8 pairs for 2026! I'm trying to make 26 pairs for 2026, do you think I can do it? I've also finished pair 9, but haven't booked them yet! Working on #10 now!
I'll put more details about each in the comments 🙂

Just finished blocking my pair of Tiptoe Through the Tulips by Charlotte Stone. I think they are the cutest thing I've ever knit and I have several of her patterns in my project queue now. I just cast on Kiss a Frog last night!
Patons Kroy Sock was the first sock yarn I used when learning to make socks, and I was surprised to learn after trying other sock yarns that it is significantly thicker than most!
Anyway, I recently decided to make a pair of socks with Patons Kroy Sock for the main color and contrasting heels/toes/cuffs in another yarn. (This cuff is Cascade Heritage.) But there is a significant mismatch in the yarn weights. The solid orange section is noticeably thinner than the main body of the sock.
I know that Patons Kroy comes in a few solids and heathers, but not many. I would like to find another yarn that is of similar weight to use as a contrast color, and I would like for it to be a true sock yarn with nylon for sturdiness. Has anyone ever found another sock yarn that is a good match for Patons Kroy?
Just finished these for my daughter-in-law and love how they turned out. Pattern is Surf Wax from The Sock Project by Summer Lee.
Yarn is Cascade Heritage White and Madeline Tosh Lemon Drip.
Charlotte Stone Magic Toadstool. Malabrigo socks yarn. I made these for my granddaughter.
Bad news: they’re somewhat tight after soaking them. (I’ll try going up to 2.75mm from 2.5mm next time.)
The pattern is Z is for Zebra with my own Tabi toe formula, a rounded star heel, and a sneaker tab with sewn hem. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/z-is-for-zebra-socks
How do I make this gusset flap at the ankle and the doubleknitted gusset? The sock is knitted top down.
Should I try to block it? Or just frog it and go up a needle size? I knitted it inside out and I picked up every four or five stitches for the floats.
This is the first sock I'm knitting and I'm doing a Heel Flap with Slip Stitch and omg was it a struggle. I frogged this part like 5 times already. I literally cannot read, at first I was knitting (sl 1,k) in both sides of the heel flap, then I realised it was wrong and I started sl 1, k1 and on the other side I started doing the same but with purls sl 1,p. And then I realised it was ALSO WRONG. But I finally read correctly and I'm making progress slowly :D
Also the pattern I'm following is Vanilla Socks by Suzanne Sjögren
So I got a PICC line (a special kind of IV that can stay in for weeks) today for chemo this weekend, and they gave me one of those atrocious hospital socks with the toe cut off to protect it when not in use. Well, as a knitter, that just won't do! 🤣 So I raided my sock yarn leftovers stash and am knitting up a sleeve that will at least look cool while I have this thing for the next 16 days.
Does knitting inside out on magic loop make a difference? I was wondering because I’m better at tensioning when switching needles when it’s right side in. And magic loop is basically knitting flat with two turns.
This is my first sock ever, and while it's not perfect (god I dropped so many stitches) and I don't love the colourway anymore, it's been so fun. You don't get stranded in a rib/ stockinette ocean, and the heel construction is a fun challenge. I want to knit more socks!!
I’m a simple knitter and I wanted my socks to look like a spring inspired. I made these petals so they can be added to any sock pattern, any size, and any yarn weight.
I’ve started building up a small collection, and it made me wonder. Do you actually wear all your handmade socks regularly, or do some just end up as “too nice to use”?
Part of me wants to save the nicer pairs, but that kind of defeats the point
Curious how others handle this
Hi everyone, I finished these socks about a year and a half ago, but I wasn’t able to wear them for more than a minute because they were so prickly. They’re only the third pair of socks I’ve knitted.
Last week, I soaked them in warm water with hair conditioner for three hours, and now I can actually wear them! I was very surprised that it worked and really happy that I can finally use them.
I’m so happy, in fact, that I’ve already cast on a new pair of socks :)
Patern is Show-off Stranded Socks
by Anne Campbell.
Yarn is Opal van Vincent van Gogh color 5433
I posted here a few days ago about my difficulties in mastering the second side of the sock gusset. I tried out just about every suggestion and watched the recommended videos and I finally did it! I wish I could post a picture. Thank you so much. I tried on my own for a very long time, and it just didn’t happen. I ended up using a crochet hook because my stitches were so tight. Have a wonderful weekend everyone and thank you again.
I was looking at German short row heels. I like the technique. But, half way through you knit 2 full rounds. I wanted to do the heel in a contrast colour and don't want that colour on the front of my sock. Can I just use my main colour at the front of these 2 rounds? Is there a different trick or is this not the heel for this project? If it's not the heel, what would you suggest?
Used up some leftovers to make some socks. The self striping yarn is from Fiber Seed and is in the color way called Shooting Stars. The contrast heels and toes were knit in yarn from Super Glo and the color way is Blades of Grass. My goal is to finish some other projects before casting on new socks but we’ll see if I stick to that plan. I have some yarn and some new patterns I really want to try. 😝
I knit my first pair of socks VERY slowly over the course of a year and a half. The whole time I thought “I’m never doing this again”……. until I put them on. They are easily my favorite pair of socks, so here I am a few weeks after this realization, second pair complete. Onto pair 3 —
Pattern is called Unity
