Sock yarn that is comparable in weight to Patons Kroy Sock?
Patons Kroy Sock was the first sock yarn I used when learning to make socks, and I was surprised to learn after trying other sock yarns that it is significantly thicker than most!
Anyway, I recently decided to make a pair of socks with Patons Kroy Sock for the main color and contrasting heels/toes/cuffs in another yarn. (This cuff is Cascade Heritage.) But there is a significant mismatch in the yarn weights. The solid orange section is noticeably thinner than the main body of the sock.
I know that Patons Kroy comes in a few solids and heathers, but not many. I would like to find another yarn that is of similar weight to use as a contrast color, and I would like for it to be a true sock yarn with nylon for sturdiness. Has anyone ever found another sock yarn that is a good match for Patons Kroy?
