I’m a heavy sky Ferreira fan I started listening to her awhile ago and around the time like 4 months before she went on her recent tour and I was and still am a big Courtney love fan. sky honestly was my biggest inspiration for aesthetics and modern rock in music I want to make but more or less a master class in weaving the music industries views on creative freedom and image when it comes to their artists. Sky is responsible DIRECTLY for Halsey Billie Olivia Rodrigo and Chappel roan if you disagree I think you need to understand 1. That this doesn’t mean their complete rip offs 2 they didn’t not work hard 3 their only famous cause of her. I say this cause I think the most accurate depiction or straight inspo aesthetically is Billie ellish I mean the tarantula the white hair the whole look is sky. Halsey we know already. Olivia and Chappell if you mixed them sonically they’d be NTMT. The reason (and sky even said this herself) is that she got her big break too young and didn’t have the background for a label to take her creative direction seriously it’s so depressing cause her unreleased stuff is hits of 80s new wave and grunge pop hooks that center in a 80s grunge sonic electro mix that is so tasteful Dan Nigro def chewed his nachos in Olivia’s 1st lo and chapels second idk I just love her sm
