In Bengaluru, New driver learnt to drive from school,
80:20 city highway usage, elevate makes more sense but

1. Turbo in Kushaq vs NA in ELEVATE for city

2. NVH in elevate is it an issue ? Going for a test drive to check that but is it really a big issue , as occasional highway trips would be unpleasant if I am not wrong or it’s manageable

  1. Price almost same - 19.4 lakhs on road

My 3 and a half year old slavia’s battery died today morning. I still have 6 months of warranty left on my car and I heard somewhere we have to get the battery replaced at the service centre only as they to code the auto engine start/stop feature and if I get it replaced someplace else it voids warranty. Please let me know if this true the service centre is quoting 12k for battery replacement including labour

I’m planning to book Kushaq Classic Plus AT this weekend. Is anyone getting any discount on it?
For me the dealer said there is no discount and he also mentioned that he can give a little discount on insurance.

Also, I found good insurance from Acko but when I have asked the dealership to let me take self insurance to which also they denied. Can they deny me for self insurance?
Is there any benefit of taking insurance from dealership or Acko insurance is good enough? Acko insurance is very cheap with all add ons.

TC is peak automatic gearbox for City and Highways. We are getting it only in 1.0 TSI variants, but for 1.5 DSG its an awesome gearbox for Highways, but gets heat in bumper to bumper traffic. Is there any technical reason even though spending more money and better engine we need to loose TC AT advantages in 1.5 TSI variants

Hey everyone, long post but need some help - this has been a nightmare 45 days and I’m quite confused on what to do here.
I own a Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo 1.0 TSI AT, purchased October 2024, ~24,000 km, well maintained. Last serviced at TAFE Access, Kudlu Road, Bangalore in September 2025 - no issues flagged.

What happened:

March 10, 2026 - while coming back home I faced a bump on the road. This is typical for Haralur Road. While parking at home, the car suddenly wouldn’t shift into Park mode. I used the manual key release to secure it, called Skoda Roadside Assistance the next morning, and had it towed to TAFE Access, Kudlu Road. I was not there when they towed the vehicle or at the service centre to receive it.
The car had been running perfectly — I’d driven to Hyderabad and back just 2-3 days before this happened.

What TAFE said:

Over the next 6 weeks, they told me that there’s an underbody damage on gearbox side, gear oil sump issue. Can’t proceed without insurance surveyor. Then said full gearbox needs replacement. Price quote was around 7.4L.
This week (after we pushed for diagnostic report): Email from their Aftersales team saying “diagnostic log shows selector lever issue” - but still recommending gearbox replacement.

Regarding the diagnostic report - On April 27, after significant difficulty - the executive first refused to share it saying I wasn’t entitled to it, then claimed it was deleted, then searched 6 different systems saying he couldn’t find it - we finally got the ODIS diagnostic report (dated on 16th March) through his manager. At one point he googled the part to show us what it meant and then was surprised that it was just a micro switch and didn’t indicate a problem with the gearbox. He showed us screens of a system they use - Autadex and randomly pointed to the screen and said gearbox is damaged (screen didn’t indicate any such thing)

The diagnostic report shows:

Address 0002 — 6-speed automatic gearbox — ZERO faults. Not one.
The only gear-related fault: B116229 — Selector lever park position lock switch, implausible signal.

Their own diagnostic report, from their own system, on their own ODIS said that it was a micro switch problem and not gearbox as a whole.
We also drove the car forward and reverse in their yard on April 27. It moved fine. Video recorded.

The insurance situation:

We filed a claim with Digit Insurance. Their field surveyor came, saw underbody rust, and rejected the claim — saying the rust indicates old damage and owner negligence. He never asked for or reviewed the ODIS diagnostic report. Made the decision based entirely on visual inspection and TAFE’s verbal word.
When we visited Digit’s office, the Karnataka State Manager verbally told us that there’s are two damage pattern and one of them looks “horizontal not vertical” and implied we may have caused it intentionally. Because only vertical dents are possible while driving - horizontal are not. When we asked for this in writing, he refused.
He also told us TAFE had asked if Digit could pay 40-50% as a settlement — and concluded we must be colluding with TAFE. We had no knowledge of this suggestion whatsoever.

Further, I has asked Digit to come with me to see the car - had an altercation there - they refused to see the diagnostic report or even listen to me. I kept requesting them to listen to me but they kept shouting.
They said that there’s rust is 1 year old+ - whereas I didn’t receive any such info from TAFE when I got the car serviced last year.
He keeps saying I have purposely caused damage to my own vehicle and the proof is the horizontal damage. He refuses to listen to anything.
Infact the service guys also tried talking to them and asking that if it’s just an oil sump issue will you pay for anything and he said he won’t pay for anything at all and walked off.

Now TAFE guys are telling me (not the executive who didn’t want to share the report - the manager I spoke to this time) that maybe it’s not such a big issue - they can open the oil sump and check the issue from inside. They won’t know much without opening. But the moment they open it my warranty will be void and I won’t be able to claim anything in insurance

What I know from research: B116229 seems to be a known VW Group issue - affects all VW group AT models.

Where we are now:

- Car still at TAFE (45+ days)
- This week got a low battery voltage notification on Skoda Connect
- Planning to move the car to another authorized Skoda service center
- Digit claim is formally rejected twice — I’m thinking of mailing Digit Grievance and asking for help or I’ll raise to Ombudsman

What I’m asking:

- If the second service centre also says that they won’t know anything until they open the gearbox and the insurance has already rejected my claim twice - should I wait to get help via Ombudsman? Or should I open it anyway - and see what the issue is. Chances that it’s minor (given the report) or even if it’s major - get it repaired locally.

- If I do end up opening it and getting it repaired locally - is my warranty on the car as a whole void? What will happen to my insurance?

- What are the chances that Ombudsman will listen to my issues and make Digit pay for this? Also how much time can this take?

- Any way I can get Škoda to help here? Seems to me that the service centre guys were lying.

- I’m taking it to Raja Škoda Mahadevpura now - if you have any other recommendations for a service centre that can give the right advice pls suggest

- Also, has anyone faced any such thing? Or you happen to know what the problem could be? Could the road impact have dislodged things inside the gearbox?

Also for context - I drive the car daily to and from work. 30 Kms atleast daily. And live in Haralur - bumps and bad roads are quite common. Never faced any other issue. In the absence of the car - I’ve had to rely on other means and costs are running high + frustrated at not having my own car

Please suggest what I can do - really need any help I can get. Please let me know if any of you want any details to understand the situation better.

I’m confused between the Skoda Kushaq 1.5 DSG and Volkswagen Virtus GT 1.5 DSG.

I personally prefer the Virtus for its sedan driving feel and enthusiast appeal, but the Kushaq seems more practical for long-term usage and family comfort.

My main concern is:

  1. Virtus purchase i have to do on current model will miss out on few features on facelift launch later this year.
  2. Will proper enthusiast sedans and 1.5 turbo petrol engines like the Virtus still exist 5–6 years later, or will the market fully shift towards SUVs, hybrids, and EVs?

Would it make more sense to:
- Buy the Kushaq now and possibly move to a sedan later if the segment still exists
or
- Buy the Virtus now and keep it long term before enthusiast sedans become rare?

Which would you recommend considering future trends, practicality, and ownership experience?

Did anyone from this group has got Kushaq Classic Plus AT delivered?

I was told that I would get allotment by Apr end, till now there's no sign of it yet

The other dealer called me to book promising to deliver it in one week as the vehicle is in transit and is not allotted to anyone yet. I told him I'm ready to book and went to the showroom within an hour, by then he said it was already booked by someone else.

Feeling frustrated after so much delay, gave my old car for exchange already a couple months ago.

The track buttons suddenly stopped working! Any suggestions what to do? Or get them changed? The forward and rewind track buttons on my Kushaq suddenly stopped functioning. There is no visible external damage; physically, they appear to be in perfect condition. The car is 1.5 years old. What could be the cause? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, whether in a Slavia or a Kushaq?

I’ve been driving the Skoda Kushaq for a while now, and out of nowhere an engine warning light popped up. No noticeable drop in performance, but obviously got it checked right away.

After inspection, the service centre says it’s an O2 sensor failure. Fair enough — things can fail. But the explanation that followed is what caught me off guard.

They’re claiming this is happening quite often now because of ethanol-blended petrol, which apparently attracts insects, and in some cases leads to a tiny bite/puncture on the sensor wiring or component. Based on that, they’ve categorized it as external damage and straight-up denied warranty.

Estimated cost? Around 15k+.

What doesn’t sit right with me: • If this is “common” due to fuel changes, shouldn’t the components be better protected? • How does something this minor end up knocking out a critical sensor? • And more importantly, why is the customer expected to absorb this?

I’ve previously owned Volkswagen cars and never ran into something like this, so this feels a bit off.

Genuinely curious: • Has anyone else with Kushaq (or even other Skoda/VW cars) faced this O2 sensor issue? • Were you given the same “bug/ethanol” explanation? • Was it covered under warranty or handled the same way?

Trying to understand if this is actually a widespread issue or just an unlucky one-off.

Hey guys, planning to pick up the Kushaq Classic Plus Manual soon. If you’ve taken delivery, could you help me with a few quick details?

Price: What was the total on-road price and which city? Any discounts or insurance savings?

Accessories: Which official ones are worth it? Is the reverse camera a must-get from the dealer?

Performance: How’s the 1.0 TSI manual feeling in the city? AC performance okay?

Colors: Which color looks best for this variant? Can’t decide between Carbon Steel, Steel Grey, or the blue.

Thanks!

Those who have driven the new facelift Kushaq 1.0 and 1.5, did you experience any difference in the ride quality between the two or any noticeable differences in suspension setup etc? Just a curiosity question based on one of the YouTube reviews.

Edit: I’m aware of the engine/gearbox related performance differences. This question is specific to ride quality only. Hope it makes sense. Thanks.

Check engine light on with warning of selector lever

A week back in the morning, I started my car, usually it starts crawling as soon as I lift my foot from the brake. But that day it took slightly longer so I pushed the accelerator without thinking much. Just after 1 km on signal stop got message displayed to depress brake paddle. Then, on the next crossing, it started to show warning of the selector lever (for a fraction of a second, at random intervals).

I then went to the nearest service centre and the car is there for a week now. The service centre people are unable to diagnose the cause. They checked for the rat bit and fuse, both are okay. Now, they are saying it might be the problem in mechatronics. They also said that they need special equipment to diagnose it which is coming from the Czech Republic (I think this part is bull shit).

Other details which might be helpful:

\- The car is 3 years old, 1.5 AT and has 23000 km on Odometer. Single person driven till date and driven it with utmost care.

\- Use it for daily commute (heavy traffic)

\- first owner.

\- shows 100 driving score on the Skoda app after every drive.

Looking for advice from experienced folks. What should I do?
