Best medical grade eye creams for a 41 year old?

I’ve almost finished a bottle of Alastin Restorative Eye Complex and I’m not sure if I want to stick with it. I’m curious if there’s something better out there (fine lines, firmness, just anti aging in general 😅)? What eye creams do you swear by?

Skincare recs for hormonal acne while TTC?

Hello everyone, I was on 100 mg/day of spironolactone for about 3.5 years and my skin was amazing. I'm currently TTC so I tapered off about 8 months ago. Since then, my skin has gotten worse. All my cystic acne is back. Any recommendations on what skincare to use? I'm currently using azelaic acid in am/pm along with niacinamide and vitamin c serums, and moisturizer/sunscreen. I wear makeup everyday since my acne is so bad. Any help would be appreciated!

SkinMedica Pore Purifying Gel Cleanser. What's your experience with it?

I'm looking for a face cleanser with Salicylic Acid that it's also fungal acne safe and it's gentle as my skin is sensitive.

What's your experience with the SK gel cleanser?

If you have a Salicylic acid face cleanser that is gentle, does the job, and is also fungal acne safe, please share it with me.

Are Facials Overrated?

TLDR: I think I’m expecting too much from facials and need to channel my money into procedures instead.

So yesterday I got a facial at a great medspa near me. They do facials and also specialize in treatments like microneedling and laser. I figured I would get a few facials there and then start dipping my toe into the fun stuff.

The facial was lovely-GREAT massage, hydrojelly mask, and 30 minutes under an LED mask. Today I woke up and it’s like…ok? Nothing really wows me about my skin today. It looks nice, but honestly, nothing I don’t achieve on a daily basis from my skincare products. I guess I was hoping for more of a WOW.

I’m wondering if perhaps now that I’ve invested in all this great skincare that has my skin looking SO GOOD daily, my money is better spent on procedures rather than just a facial. And maybe a facial is a fun thing I just do for me. Anyone else felt this way after finding a good routine?

Oily skin cleanser

I'm trying to help my daughter find a good cleanser for her skin. She's currently using Paula's Choice but says her skin feels really oily about an hour later. She also has breakouts on her forehead and chin. She is really low maintenance, a cleanser, toner and moisturizer is her max commitment to a regimen. I have dry skin so I can't help her with my own experience.

I was thinking Dermologica, but not sure which cleanser would be best for her skin type. She has beautiful pale porcelain skin. She just needs to get the breakouts and oil under control.

Any suggestions on Dermologica or any other brand, are appreciated.

AM Moisturizer Recommendations - Combination/Normal Skin

What is everyone with combination to normal skin using as a morning moisturizer? I’m currently using Tatcha Water Cream under makeup and Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide on no makeup days, but I’m looking to switch it up. On no makeup days, I can tolerate something a bit heavier. On makeup days, I need something lighter to avoid my t zone turning into an oil slick. I’d appreciate any recs you guys have!

Tatcha Longevity Serum

Anyone using or used this? Got it to try and the smell. It smells like grass 😂😂 I've only used it a few times and I feel like my sebum dont produce oil at all anymore. Its the only product i really changed besides adding rejuran ampoule. The rejuran was actually making me oil more but my skin still wasnt bad. Its helped quite a lot too.

Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 - reorder or level up?

I'm coming to the end of the Retinal 6, using it every other day since I rotate a BHA/AHA on other nights. I'm debating if I should level up to 10 or stay on level 6 until I can use it every night. I'm using the sandwich method with it.

Thoughts on the Skinbetter Ampra HA Serum

Since the product has been out for about a month, I am curious what people’s experience has been with it so far. I a definitely interested but the price is definitely a lot for an HA serum. I recently purchased NIOD’s HA Complex and am curious if anyone has tried both.

Cold Plasma Facial Device Recommendations

Has anyone had successful results with any in-clinic cold plasma facial device like 'cool jet' or an at-home device option? I am looking to get this treatment to address my fungal acne breakouts and am having a tough time finding many practitioners (Melb, AUS). Thank you so much in advance for any tips or feedback!

Help a newbie make a skincare routine & not combine the wrong things?

Can someone help me understand how to use these products together in a skincare routine?

I would like to get everything in at least once every other day, but I keep reading not to combine certain things.

I also tend to get shiny skin, and the estrogen in the daytime is almost too much shine.

•Tret

•Retinol (for eye area)

•Estrogen (estriol for face)

•Vit C (serum)

•Collagen Peptides (serum & cream)

•EGF (serum & cream)

I am a total newbie to a lot of this, and might be overthinking it..? I also have sunscreen for the mornings.

Thank you so much!

I am a woman in my 40s, if that helps.

I also have some amazing moisturizers from Tatcha, that I would love to squeeze in after I figure the rest out.

Help with my routine and new products!!

I have dry skin, not much acne but get the occasional blemish, wanting to start fighting wrinkles and aging. I’m almost 30 so feel like my skin just looks dry and tired and clogged and also red spots from acne take forever to clear. I’m also pregnant so can not use retinol for a bit. I also like to keep things pretty minimal but I’m open to adding a few more steps to my routine. So here’s my current routine:

AM:

  1. Cleanse with just water (my skin gets soooo dry if I use a cleaner)

  2. Skinceuticals Phloretin CF

  3. Elta MD AM Restore moisturizer

  4. Elta MD UV Clear tinted spf

PM:

  1. Cleanse

  2. Skinceuticals HA Intensifier

  3. Skinceuticals triple lipid restore cream

I feel like I can do better though… any helps appreciated!

My acne prone friends, please share your vitamin c and moisturizer/serum recommendations!!

I’m having such a hard time finding a moisturizer/serum and vitamin c. Moisturizers I find tend to be thick or contain lots of oils and coconut esters, and Shea butters.

Vitamin c often breaks me out because of the tocopherol. Although I think I’m ok with tocopheryl acetate.

Any advice is greatly appreciated 🌱

Uplift5 Device

Hi! I’m curious if anyone has tried the Uplift5 facial toning device. I’ve seen quite a few influencers peddling, but I’m more interested in reviews from other users. It’s interesting technology, but I’m uncertain about its efficacy.
