Are Facials Overrated?

TLDR: I think I’m expecting too much from facials and need to channel my money into procedures instead.

So yesterday I got a facial at a great medspa near me. They do facials and also specialize in treatments like microneedling and laser. I figured I would get a few facials there and then start dipping my toe into the fun stuff.

The facial was lovely-GREAT massage, hydrojelly mask, and 30 minutes under an LED mask. Today I woke up and it’s like…ok? Nothing really wows me about my skin today. It looks nice, but honestly, nothing I don’t achieve on a daily basis from my skincare products. I guess I was hoping for more of a WOW.

I’m wondering if perhaps now that I’ve invested in all this great skincare that has my skin looking SO GOOD daily, my money is better spent on procedures rather than just a facial. And maybe a facial is a fun thing I just do for me. Anyone else felt this way after finding a good routine?
