Simone yelled “school shooter vibes” at me while I was wearing SFTH merch
Was walking down the street in NY when some random shirtless dude walking past pointed at me and yelled “school shooter vibes!”. The hoodie is a gift I got for my 15th birthday on Friday. I love it have worn it basically every day— including to school— and my art teacher even commented saying she loved it, as it was a photography term. I never thought of SFTH’s name in a gun way until now. I suppose my punk shorts and trans shoelaces weren’t much help, but it really weirded me out. I don’t know if I’m gonna wear this outside again in America. When/if I go to England, sure, but I suppose America just immediately thinks of guns when they hear “Shoot From the Hip.” This isn’t SFTH’s fault of course, but the interaction lowkey upset me, especially as a teen who has to participate in lockdown drills and even experienced a shooter scare at my old school. I hate guns and love improv (as well as photography). Anyways, sorry for rambling. Has anyone ever had a similar experience?
