I have CYMA cm040 and I use it with 7.62 magazines. I know there's an AK-104 on the front lines, but maybe I should change the gun to an AK-74M, AK-12, or just change the magazines to 5.45.

My butt is now packed with a new buttpack, and everything on this kit is now kosher, since I got my real helmet cover :D

Tell me your thoughts about the kit.

Most russian units in the smo never seem to use rigid (mostly ceramic) side panels at all, only soft armor inserts are used. Does anyone have explainations for this? Is it because of their lack of popularity or necessity in an artillery and drone war in ukraine? The unavailability of the plates (like the granit side panels which are likely not in production anymore)? The incompatibility with most plate carriers due to size (all of the side panels in the pictures are around 7 inches high) or the majority of the available ones are just uncertificated/low-quality stuff?

I wanna dye my Mid-Gen Black Label smersh to make it look more like an old gen, i wanna go for that yellow color the Sbruya had but i dont know how to do it. Do i gotta dip it in coffee? tea? Sun-"color" it?

I could dip it in coffee or another staining liquid but im a bit afraid of de-coloring it in the sun cuz the material might get damaged, any advice?

Hi everyone! I'm looking into putting together a 45th VDV machine gunner kit with some stuff I already have and some stuff I need to buy.

To start with, I've seen mentions and guides saying the SSO Panstir is accurate. However I didn't get a specific version. Is the SSO Panstir 3.1 accurate to use?

Second of all, I'm trying to find some machine gunner pouches. In the photo I referenced on this post, what is the one this guy is running?

Last of all, does anyone have other good references of machine gunners during Hostomel? I could only find a couple and most were blurry. Along with this, some reference photos of how machine gunners setup their gear (especially the front plate carrier)
