Is it culturally insensitive to zipper merge here?

590 turns into a 2-lane highway for a mile before the construction starts. I feel bad for driving past all the people waiting patiently, but I also want to get where I‘m going. Also curious if any other big city transplants have this dilemma.

Poop Perpetrator @ East End Garage

Hello folks,

I need your help in identifying a disgusting character who has been smearing feces on cars for months now at the East End garage- located on Main/Scio downtown. Unfortunately there are no cameras in the garage, and someone has been sneaking in there and literally finger-painting with poop on windows, door handles, and the hoods of cars.

Does this story sound familiar anywhere else or do you know more about this story? Have any suggestions? Please help!

Best place for a beginner to get ice skates?

I’ve recently started taking ice skating classes as an adult and love it but the rentals are killing my feet!

I have a wider foot which is definitely causing a lot of the pain, but I’m a bit self conscious about how much of a beginner I am and don’t want to overspend on skates when I’m not planning to be a competitive skater, I just want to be more comfortable in lessons. I know there’s a bunch of pro shops in the area that would do fittings, but I don’t know how beginner-friendly they are. I genuinely don’t know anything, not the slightest clue how I’d need them sharpened or anything.

I also have a touch of anxiety so I’m likely overthinking it. I just want to get a pair of rec skates that don’t hurt anymore, without dropping crazy money on them. I live on the west side but am willing and able to go almost anywhere for a good experience.

Anywhere local that will pay money for this? Or simply want this?

I am disassembling a very heavy hot water heater - I’m wondering if anyone will pay money for this? Or if it’s valuable to anyone for any reason? I’m about to leave on the curb to invite anyone to take it away unless it’s worth something significant as scrap….

Looking for a roommate

Hello Rochesterians I need a roommate. I am 21 years old about to be 22 in a month. I work 2 jobs, as a youth advocate and a crisis peer mentor. I already got my associates so I am not a current college student. I am also genderfluid and connected with my local queer community. I currently reside in the east side area by the East ave Wegman's. My current roommate plans on moving out soon and my lease ends 7/1. The rent is currently $1495 and between two people its $747.50. Plus electric and wifi. There is an "in" unit washer and dryer, except its outside of the house, it is in the back of the house in a cellar. Theres a dish washer, a back porch. The house is a duplex and I live upstairs. The upstairs tenants get the driveway, so if you have a car, what a nice bonus. I am more than happy to share more about myself and the house and talk with others and I am open to resources and advice. Feel free to ask any other kinds of questions.

Florists that do dried flowers events?

Hello! Planning an event and a family member has a lot of allergies so dried flowers are best. They’re also pretty so I wouldn’t mind it anyway - does anyone know of any florists that do events with dried flowers?

Thanks!

Basha's Owner, Bassam Khalil, sexually harasses his female employees

Basha's Owner, Bassam Khalil, sexually harasses his female employees

I've witnessed it multiple times before. He consistently targets his female employees with comments about their bodies. Sometimes he uses abusive and chauvinistic language. The way he treats his wife in front of his employees is also disgusting. I don't know how his business is still running with the reputation he has.

There are upwards of 13 of us who will need hair and make up done before 11:30 AM so looking for either a team or a couple individual artists who wouldn’t mind sharing the space. Thanks in advance!

Cheesecake Recommendations

What is folks favorite local places to get cheesecake from? We love the one Wegman’s has, but I’m curious if anyone have any recommendations of bakeries and such that outdo them! Would prefer somewhere out Brockport/Batavia way but willing to travel for good cheesecake!

3D Printing Needed

3D Printing Needed

Hi Everyone,

I have a small part for my laptop that I would like to have a few printed. The part helps keep my power cord connected to my laptop because Dell sucks at design.

https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/gadget/alienware-m15-power-cable-clip

I have a copy of the .stl file. If anyone knows or can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I'm aware of Rochester Makerspace and do plan on becoming a member in the not too distant future.

40th Birthday Places

hey!

im looking for a place that will reserve a handful of tables or offer semi private space for my 40th birthday.

the plan would be pretty casual & just have my friends drop in between 7-10 ish on a Saturday (5/9)

eveyone would pay separately for food/drink.

im ok with putting down a small deposit to reserve the space.

im also okay with needing to meet a food/bev minimum (under $300)

would be cool to bring in a cake but not required

any suggestions are appreciated

Artist recommendations for paintings or drawings

I am looking to have an art piece done of my family which would include a loved one who passed. I have looked on Etsy but it’s hard to know what is real and what is just AI.

Does anyone have any recommendations of an artist locally or even in NYS that does these kinds of paintings/drawings?

Anyone in the area want to ride motorcycles together?

I’m looking to find some people nearby (Chili) who’d be down for casual motorcycle rides. Nothing wild just cruising, enjoying the roads, and maybe grabbing some food or coffee along the way.
